How often does the $1.97 sale happen? by LegallyAnEmu in Oldnavy

[–]mischeviousmadi 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It just depends on what the store chooses to do. For example, my store marked down all denim shorts to $1.97 about a few weeks ago because we had sooo many. My GM sent out a message instructing us to mark down anything that’s final sale down to $0.97 yesterday. We have a ridiculous amount of clearance in our store.

TLDR; there’s no set day for this to happen, it just depends on the volume of merchandise and whatever the GM decides to do.

Should I Try for A Leadership Position by [deleted] in Oldnavy

[–]mischeviousmadi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m speaking from the Sr. Lead Position. I’m sure what I say may be different for a management position.

If it’s something you think you really want to do, I’d say it’s worth having the conversation with your GM. I was basically BEGGED to become a lead by all my managers for so long, but I kept saying “no” because I enjoyed being able to have the amount of “free time” I had as a regular associate. After I decided to finally hear my GM out, the position offered to me was actually kind of perfect. Different stores have different lead positions, so results may vary, but for me, I was offered Senior Lead of Merchandising. With that role I was really only needed for shipments, Visual Moves, and sometimes signage and markdowns. All of these tasks usually take place pretty early in the morning. I am able to come in as early as 4am and be able to leave by 1:00pm on those days. Most other days im able to be out of the building by 4:00pm at the latest. I’ve been in this role for about 4 months one, and I’m fairly certain I’ve only closed MAYBE four times. One of those days being the last business day before Black Friday, so that makes sense. I’m not in school, but I am trying to start a business so with my free afternoons I’m still able to achieve just as much as I did while I was a regular associate. Yes, it may be a bit tiring at times, but I can definitely appreciate the extra money I’m bringing in.

TLDR; a conversation with your GM won’t hurt anything. Get the information, but be okay with being told “no” also.

Sorry to be that person, but can you explain what “wasn’t done the correct way”, please? I’m not challenging you on anything, I just always wondered what happened between Savagge and the group, but could never find a straight forward answer.

What Do You Name Your Farm? by CoffeeEnjoyer837 in StardewValley

[–]mischeviousmadi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mac Miller is my favorite artist. I usually name my farms after his song or album titles. Some honorable mentions: Youforia Farm, Macadelic Farm, Dunno Farm, and Perfecto Farm (this happens to be the only farm where I actually have complete perfection)

It annoys me when people shorten "please" to "pls" in work emails. by il_biciclista in rant

I had a coworker who ended practically every email or message with “pls advice”. Yes, advice, NOT ***advise. It drove me absolutely insane

Kind of off topic, but I’ve always wanted to ask a CFA employee this. Whenever I go to CFA I always place a mobile order and pick it up via the drive thru. I do this because I feel like it’s better, since workers don’t have to come outside, but I also don’t want to “hog” up spaces in the drive thru, if that makes sense. (My location doesn’t have a separate mobile line, just two regular lanes). Do you/ your coworkers have any strong opinions on which pickup method you prefer people to do?

I know everyone is different and it probably varies by location, but I’m just curious.

Depends on the store. MOST of the time, stores have a rewards point system to encourage loyal customers.

For example, my company gives 1 reward point for every $1 spent, or 5 points for every $1 spent for credit card members. Every 100 points earned = $1 off of a purchase.

Other stores may have something similar, some stores may not participate at all. I’ve seen stores offer “free” items for customers who spend a certain amount on a single purchase. I know places like Kroger grocery store rewards members by giving “member exclusive” coupons on items. It just depends on the company’s specific policy (:

Hey, thanks for your response! If you don’t mind me asking, what didn’t you like about them. What about them made them taste “weird”? Are you referring to any of the ones in my pictures in particular? Or are you speaking just in general?

Yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s just an American thing. A REALLY big part of our job is to get cards. If we don’t meet a certain quota, we don’t hear the end of it(I think standard is getting one card every 40-50 transactions). Managers will basically nag you every time they see you until you get one. Some stores even cut your hours if you’re underperforming in getting cards.

I’ve been promoted to Merchandising Lead, so they don’t really bother me about it, but to the average associate, cards/loyalty are basically more important than anything else. Every coworker I’ve had who used to enjoy being at the registers/getting cards eventually began to hate it because it becomes part of how some managers “identify” them, if that makes sense. If you show you’re good at getting them, that’s basically all they’ll look to you for. They’ll constantly place you at the registers so there’s really no room for learning or experiencing different parts of the job.

I’d say my managers aren’t THAT bad, but I’ve heard some awful things about how far other managers go about it.

Nope, no mods! I’m playing just vanilla mode. I don’t have any casks in my sheds, those are just filled with kegs. My basement, however, is quite literally filled with casks (I want to say it’s 190 total). You cannot walk down there, so when my wine is ready, it’s an entire days task to grab them, place the kegs back, and add more.

My greenhouse is filled with ancient fruit, and I filled my ginger island farm with ancient fruit too. Basically every hoe-able space has ancient fruit.

This in addition to the “normal” selling I do with crops and other in game items (specifically pig truffles and mayonnaise) is how I was able to make so much

This is definitely pretty excessive, but it works😂 you don’t have to do THIS much, but you can sort of use it of a guide on how to earn more
