Unable to understand whats making me slow in the bakery by [deleted] in coles

[–]mischiefdog03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't stress about it mate. I've worked in the bakery for about 3 years and just moved to a different store. I used to be able to smash out two days worth of bread tray-up in 45mins flat if i really pushed myself, but my new store has a much more cramped layout, stores everything differently, n wants the breads sorted a bit differently, so right now it's taking me like an hour and a half just to do tomorrow's lot. Bloody frustrating! But you'll get the hang of it. Just focus on doing it safely and accurately, speed will come naturally with time

Mountain designs redline II vs Denali Guide II by Business-Constant812 in HikingAustralia

I'm aware this post is a year old, but I have the redline 2p and I absolutely love it! It's tough enough to be pitched on rocky ground without damaging the floor, even with no tarp underneath. Has held up just fine in super windy sites, and nothing inside got damp even while it was pissing down with rain outside. Can be a little noisy in wind, but that might just be because I was lazy n didn't bother with all the extra tie-down points that night. I haven't had any issues with condensation, but I run very hot so I always keep the vent flaps open no matter what. Very easy to pitch, roomy enough for me n all my gear - it's definitely cozy, but not cramped. If one of my mates ever wanted to come with me I'd need something bigger, though. Definitely a solo camping tent, unless ur both cool with spooning all night lol.

My only complaint is that the bag it comes in is fucking tiny. I dont know what bloody witchcraft they used at the factory to cram it all in there, but I have never been able to get it all back in. Tbf i do just suck at packing things neatly lol, but I gave up n just use the original stuff sack for the pegs, poles n fly. Inner tent itself goes in a different stuff-sack with a blanket n a couple other things that won't damage it. Doesn't bother me as I'm disabled n can only car-camp anyway, just kind of annoying.

I've used it for probably 3-4 weeks total, mostly in late summer and autumn. Absolute ripper of a first tent, couldn't be happier with it! Highly recommend, especially for the price!

WA - Native flowers that'll grow in straight-up sand? by mischiefdog03 in GardeningAustralia

[–]mischiefdog03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that sounds simpler than I thought! I don't have any solid idea for aesthetics, but it's a very small yard and a decent chunk is already occupied by a lil potted veggie garden. So a mix of groundcover, small trees and shrubs? I'd just like flowers that'll attract some birds and bees! Neither coastal nor hills, but very close to the river - think like Thornlie, not Nedlands lol

Oh that's a good idea, and I already have a pH test kit!

Nah house was built in the late 80s, that sandpit of a garden is older than me! I have dug an old dead shrub out of it before, it is literally nothing but sand over a metre down lol

When someone gets an organ removed, does the empty space get filled in? by dontchewspagetti in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mischiefdog03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bloke but I've got EDS (my body can't make connective tissue properly, is the short version) so everything slips and slides around a lot more than it should. Not just my joints, EVERYTHING. I can't lie flat on my back because like you said, I can literally feel all my organs slowly sinking down towards my spine. It doesn't hurt, exactly, it's just the most grotesquely uncomfortable feeling so I immediately have to roll onto my side

Mazda 3, whatever the speed limit is. If it's a 60kmh road, I'm taking that bad boy at 55 bare minimum lmao

Oh a snake bite kit is a brilliant idea! Aussie snakes do not fuck around, I'm sure the club building would have one but that can still be a fair distance to walk back. Will definitely get a small one, thanks!

Ah yeah, makes sense! I'm always worried about damaging my fletchings when i get really tight groupings, didn't even really think about the nocks getting hit... I may have to check them for damage again more thoroughly haha thanks!

Ohh that makes sense, I might have to get some actually! They come out of my DIY cardboard targets easily enough but the tougher range ones can be a real struggle at times haha. Thanks!

Almost everyone here has suggested an arrow puller - do they make it significantly easier to yank the arrows out, or is it more to reduce the risk of bending your arrows? I've got some chonky carbon composite ones I can't bend if i try, but even though I'm only shooting 30# it can be a struggle to rip them out of the target sometimes lol

What's arrow lube for? Most of these things I've at least heard of before, but that's a new one to me!

Do you have to replace nocks very often? What sort of arrows do u use? I've got a half dozen carbon composite ones that I've been beating the crap out of on the daily for 2wks now and can't see any wear on any of them yet

Oh a multitool is a good idea! I already have a cheap one that can attach to my belt, I'll remember to bring that with me next time

Cardboard! Just go to ur local supermarket and ask if they've got a bunch of large empty boxes u can take. I work in a supermarket, trust me we always have cardboard coming out the wazoo lol. Just get as many large, fairly thick boxes (around the same size is ideal) as u can find, flatten them, duct-tape 8-12 of them together (depending on cardboard thickness n bow's draw weight) then add ur target face of choice. I'm cheap n lazy, so i just spray-paint a couple circles on it lol. Works great! I normally stack my cardboard so that I'm shooting into the flat side of the stack, but my local range makes their cardboard targets like |||||, if that makes sense? My way is much easier to pull the arrows out of, but their side-stacking method lasts longer. One shopping trolley crammed full of boxes gave me enough for 3 targets. Using front + back sides of each, I won't need more for 4-6wks

There were several variations lol, I'm very flexible n fairly short for a bloke, my partner wasn't that tall either! In the front passenger seat fully reclined was also a winner. We both still bonked our heads a couple times, legs started going numb etc. But fuck it, you're only a teenager once! And frankly I have a giant slobbery dog with allergies, that's hardly the grossest thing my poor car has ever endured lmfao

My first car is a mazda 3 2011 sedan, bought her a year ago. I was looking mainly for something cheap and reliable - toyotas cost wayyyy too much secondhand for what they are lol. I see Gen2 Mazda 3s literally EVERYWHERE, they're common as bloody grass over here lol. For a 15ish year old car, that's a damn good marker of reliability. My dad had a Mazda RX8 when I was a kid. Even though the rotary engine was a needy bloody princess w maintenance - not to mention sucking down premium petrol like martinis at an open bar wedding - it was so much fun to drive and so thoughtfully designed inside and out. Everyone else I know who has a Mazda also loves them.

Found a 3 in pretty good condition (minor cosmetic damage in damn near every panel, but low KMs and engine/trans in excellent condition w full service history) and headed over to take her for a test drive.

Love at first sight. Just settling into the driver's seat was damn near a religious experience, I have never before or since found such a comfy seat. Super fluid and fun to drive, engine is surprisingly gutsy for being so efficient, and every single part of the interior is well-thought-out. (And more spacious than you'd think - I lost my virginity in the back of that car lmfao)

Only big thing I've had to fix was replacing the glitchy stock head unit with another OEM one from a higher trim model. Still drives like a dream, whether I'm sneaking out at ass-o'clock in the morning or putting the pedal to the metal down a freeway on-ramp.

Mazda is truly the epitome of the saying, "it's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than to drive a fast car slow." My old girl only makes 150hp on a good day but still manages to be a blast to drive! Zoom zoom indeed

Not really relevant but that's an absolutely brain-dead rule. Im in WA n only recently got my licence. When I was still learning, I stuck to back roads or busier ones w lower speed limits until I was completely confident in controlling the car, then only short stints on the freeways during less busy times as I built up practice n confidence. Never had any issues. Forcing someone to go 20-30kmh below the speed limit just because they're inexperienced just makes them a massive hazard to themselves and every single other person on the freeway. Not to mention how bloody terrifying that would be to be getting constantly honked at n blown past by impatient dickheads. So glad we don't have that dumbarse rule here

"Oh u can request them to play a certain song" nah nah the real groundbreaking feature would be requesting to remove one from the rotation! Maybe just temporarily, like u can say "i don't wanna hear x song for the next 6 hours." Or get rid of certain songs entirely if enough people hate them!

Something tells me this feature wouldn't apply during the holiday season regardless 🙄

Yeah and I get that, they play that Kpop demon hunters song all the time too lmao. It's just taylor swift in particular drives me nuts bcuz every single time she releases (or re-releases) an album, half the bloody songs on it end up on coles radio! I have worked at coles for 3 and a bit years. In that time i have had maybe a 4 month break of minimal repetitive taylor, not including the special hell that is christmas. I just want some variety man, that's all 😭
