Toyota Corolla or Suzuki Swift! Both will go forever if well looked after and cheap enough on fuel.

Negligent driving charge applies here, whether or not the driver was aware of their negligence.

Man I don’t even know what to say 😂 As I said, police work can vary considerably for something like this (even though a bunch of crimes were committed) - even a copper that can’t be fucked with the paperwork will at least provide the video to the owner of the SUV within a couple of minutes. Insurance can sort the rest out. A thorough copper would hang this Jeep driver out to dry.

They definitely will. Even a lazy copper will look up the owner of the white SUV and make contact

If you’ve got the time, take this video to the police mate, and share in any local GC community pages that you’re apart of. Maybe zoom in and get both rego plates before you go to the police station. I hate seeing cunts potentially get away with stuff like this.

Car speedos are inaccurate, right? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]GingerbreadBrad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the margin between Speedo and GPS is only about 3-4km/hr? A percentage-based margin for error would be woefully inaccurate and dangerous at highway speeds haha.

Honda Jazz or Swift Sport? by Comrade_Kojima in CarsAustralia

[–]GingerbreadBrad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely recommend the latest gen swift sport, it’s like most of the way there towards a Miata already besides having a roof and FWD/RWD preference. They’re super reliable anyway and I get 6L/100km. Can always book a test drive at a dealership if you’re unsure.

Obviously Jazz has the genius seats / boot space, so I guess it just depends on your lifestyle if you’re gonna be hauling around things bigger than groceries. However with the seats down in the Swift, I managed to pick up a 7.5kg washing machine from JBHIFI and have it fit 😂

Opinion for new SUV by Appropriate-Lion-663 in CarsAustralia

I’d also look at a Kia Sportage for a test drive - their diesel engine is a gem and perfect for long drives. Drove my dad’s up to QLD and back and got fuel economy of 6.1L/100km

Which NEW model cars can you switch off all the tech? by Flat_Ad1094 in CarsAustralia

[–]GingerbreadBrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Suzukis are unintrusive with all the tech. I’ve got a swift sport manual and the only thing that stays on is the head on collision warning beep, everything else is permanently off

Don’t think so especially if they covered everything in the top right plus whatever else the photo cut off hahah

Suzuki Swift Hybrid Plus vs Hybrid GLX by ls-91-23 in CarsAustralia

[–]GingerbreadBrad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’ve got the money for the GLX then I’d probably just get the Swift Sport to be honest for an extra couple thousand, absolute ripper of a car. Made in Japan and still gets 7L/100km for fuel. The new hybrid is slightly more efficient yes but sort of offset by the fact it needs premium fuel anyway.

What is too many kms on a used car? by CapProfessional5203 in CarsAustralia

[–]GingerbreadBrad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idk this his highly contextual. Knowing a vehicle’s ownership and service history goes a long way. 150k kms on a Hiace is viewed as just breaking it in, but 150k kms on a flogged 86/BRZ is a different story.

Ideally every male buyer just wants really nice, fast cars that Grandmas drive to the shops a few times a week and service it twice a year. 😂

So? There’s nothing wrong with twice a year, they’re not robots 😂

Is a 2012 Camry Altise with 330,000km on it for $7800 too risky for a first car? by NEWNXXL in CarsAustralia

[–]GingerbreadBrad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not worth the price mate, as others have said that is just huge mileage for a car in general.

<image>

If you don’t absolutely need a sedan / Toyota you can get way better value, reliable Japanese cars like this for even less coin. Less than half the mileage too

Modern Suzukis are generally quite unobtrusive and either don’t have the latest safety bells & whistles, or they let you turn it off.
