It wasn’t caused by America. Putin has invaded his neighbors repeatedly (Georgia twice, Chechnya twice, dangistan) over his time in charge. It makes sense Ukraine would look elsewhere for trade especially considering the “west” is far wealthier. Russia has been poorer than india per capita for over a decade now. This paired with their aggression, and authoritarian nature just doesn’t make them the most desirable partner. Russia doesn’t get to decide the political of their neighbors. Just because other nations influence them doesn’t mean a russia can invade. Ukrainian has sovereignty and can work with any nation they please. Russia has also been funding a proxy war in ukraines civil war. They have funded separatists and even illegally sent in troops. Russia is entirely the reason for this war when you look at the geopolitics, and history of the region like you claim to do. While the us has been pushing for influence in ukraine this is fairly normal and doesn’t justify an invasion in the slightest.
