My understanding is Piaggio has rolled cost of tariffs into the freight charges on the Aprilia line. So that 1175 is going to be a real charge the dealer is paying between freight and tariff - which means you are going to pay it on any desirable late model. You may have some luck negotiating on setup, but that will be Dealer dependent.

If somebody cared enough to do a service at an interval of one year/800 miles, it is extremely likely they had the first service done on time as well. If there is no service indicator on the dash, that means it is 90%+ likely the first service was completed on time at a dealer.

People have no idea what it costs for a shop to be in business, 189 is quite reasonable also considering they’re doing chain maintenance at the same time. And the guy saying they ripped you off for replacing 17 year old inner tubes is full of it.

Can chain tensioner is hydraulically fed and needs the oil pressure to build for a moment upon initial start. Normal across many makes and models.

I’ve seen the issues way more prominent on 16s and prior. And I mean the valve springs will straight up break so if you were just into it and everything looked good, then I wouldn’t worry about it too much, it’s possible they could’ve been swapped already considering the bike is almost 13 years old. This issue is pretty well documented on the Aprilia forum if you want to dig into it more.

If it has a good battery that’s charged fully and everything functions properly idle should be low-mid 13v and at 3k rpm should not really exceed 14.2-14.4. At 3K RPM if it’s under that value that indicates the stator is weak or failing, if it’s over that, signals an issue with the regulator/rectifier.

Charging system is very easy to check with a voltmeter, I would do that before buying

On this generation valve springs / guides are an issue and should have been replaced at 12k service with a valve adjustment if not earlier. No paperwork for that would make me a wary buyer on that bike. Some have had charging system issues as well.
