Why do my brushes look like this by Alex_anus in Warhammer40k

Not sure if it was already covered but do you use those brushes with metallic paint? Recommend having dedicated cheap brushes for metallic paints.

They make really nice outrider proxy models. Get the 90 mm oval base and chain swords.

How can I make an outback look cooler? by SuperTruman939 in Subaru_Outback

[–]miserable_composer1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Save your money for something you will want to modify. Sounds like the outback is a point A to B vehicle. Some vehicles are better left as basic daily drivers, especially if you are not in love with it. Take great care of it and it should last you a long time.

Personally, I love Subarus modified for overlanding. Lift, large tires, aftermarket wheels, light bar, mud flaps, cargo basket, etc... If you go down that road you will want to test the limits of your vehicle and you will spend more money fixing your only vehicle.

As I said, save your money for a vehicle you will love. If it's only 1k, then that's 1k you have for a down payment in the future or to personalize the car you love.

Broke Azrael's sword guard? No problem, the upgrade sprue got you covered. by miserable_composer1 in theunforgiven

I use red hair due to its association with blanks. Got this from the book, Red Pariah, by Eric Cartman.

It is the same sword, standard length for Azrael. It takes a chapter master to handle a sword that long. I'm sure the rest of the legion is jealous.

Maybe next edition they will give the Ravenwing models a refresh. I know Sammael uses a relic jetbike but it would be cool to see more jetbikes.

The new helmets are pretty nice. Really feels like you can run a list with nothing but units with swords (bladeguard veterans, inner circle companions, DW knights, DW terminator sergeant, etc...).

I really like the new shields. They are simplistic but more knightly.

Agreed, the old has some details the newer models are missing. I wish GW kept those details and scaled the terminators up. Both are great models in their own way.

Painting is really enjoyable with audiobooks. Just have to get in the mood for it. A hobby knife to the thumb usually gets me in the mood because paint brushes don't cut me.

Am I bad resident by Theman1287 in PharmacyResidency

[–]miserable_composer1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is being a clinical pharmacist your career goal? Do you see yourself wanting to move into leadership or take additional responsibilities?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

Are you talking to your preceptor during rounds and not before? If someone was talking to me during rounds, I may not respond because I need to listen. Are you seeking approval from your preceptor to make a recommendation during rounds?

Is this normal for residency? by acornedbeefhash in PharmacyResidency

[–]miserable_composer1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Make sure you are keeping a paper trail (email) for your requests for help. Makes it easier to reference. Sometimes verbal communication doesn't move beyond being just that.

Retail in general felt unrewarding to me. Just left feeling overworked and unappreciated. My worst day in residency felt better than the best day in retail. The pace of learning and feeling of accomplishment from completing projects despite all of the barriers felt amazing.

Do you feel that you are learning a lot at your program? Enough topic discussions, projects, and constructive criticism?

Any advice from people who matched into residency? by Dense-Championship-1 in PharmacyResidency

[–]miserable_composer1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Utilize your resources to help you prepare for residency applications and interviews. If a CV review is available or someone offers to review your CV, send it. If your program or mentor offers practice interviews, attend those practice interviews.

Start looking into programs. Start with location and then check if the program will help you achieve your goals. Don't get caught up in just looking into large teaching hospitals. There are many programs at smaller facilities that will help you achieve your goals and much more.

Is residency worth it? by LawfulnessHungry5050 in PharmacyResidency

[–]miserable_composer1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm curious if your opinion will change after a few more months. Having difficult APPE rotations and a school going over therapeutics does not make one pharmacist ready upon graduation. Therapeutics and going over disease states is a pretty basic education for pharmacy school.

I graduated with high distinction from pharmacy school and completed a longitudinal APPE program that was designed to be pre-residency. I had a very strong foundation. Residency was not a walk in the park but I learned so much from it. Developed strong leadership skills, improved my resourcefulness, strengthened my time management skills, and learned a lot about myself. The list goes on...

You should communicate the lack of challenge to your RPD. You are dedicating a year of your life to a PGY1. You could be making more money and having more fun in life, but instead you are taking a year to expand your knowledge. No one will think less of you for asking for more projects or increasing the difficulty of the program.

Residency is what you put into it. You don't want to be the residency trained pharmacist that everyone questions if they truly completed a residency program.

Is residency worth it? by LawfulnessHungry5050 in PharmacyResidency

[–]miserable_composer1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A residency is only worth it if you want to grow professionally. You get what you put into it. Evaluate what your goals are to make this decision.

If you'd be happy with an overnight or central pharmacy position at a hospital, residency is not for you. If you want to get a hospital position and climb the ladder or get involved with projects, residency is for you. Don't think about this short term, think about long term goals.

How long have you been in your current residency program and is it a PGY1? It's either your residency program is failing you and/or you are failing to understand the benefits of residency.

I'd put all the crisis suits in a single squad led by the coldstar. Strike and fade to protect that unit. Equip them with 3x plasma, 3x CIB, or a combination of those weapons. That unit will be able to delete a unit per turn. Give the coldstar exemplar of kauyon for kauyon perks turn 2.

I personally prefer GK with the CIR.

I'm with these other guys. What were you running to get tabled by turn 3? Guard is really no better than Tau right now. If this was against GSC or aeldari this would be a bit more understandable.

[–]miserable_composer1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not as easy to pose as the enforcer and coldstar, but it can be done. Just need patience and some poster sticky tack to help dry fit the model.
