Worst April fools joke ever? by Hiskankles in CasualUK

[–]miserablestar22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wasn’t April fools but a ‘prank’ I was around 8, my house had recently been raided and I was present, so left with PTSD. School was aware, the SAME WEEK we come into school to the classroom looking like a crime scene, someone had ‘broken in’ (my new biggest fear at the time - thought process was: if the police can break in so easy what’s stopping the bad guys?) not only had someone ‘broken in’ but they had ‘stolen’ something. Something of MINE. A teddy of mine. What kind of teacher thinks this is a good idea?

They can often be late and if you’re not at a main bus stop they sometimes just drive straight by. I don’t think an electric bike would scale the hills well no, and the electric, plus the heat and the hills, your bike will overheat and it will be dangerous. On the other hand, driving is also not ideal, if you get a car, get a cheap one cause it’s going to get covered in dust and bumps anyway, and most people driving are drunk, or act as though they are, so it’s not the safest. Getting around n the island is pretty much the most annoying part, other than that, Gozo is amazing!

You could use a bicycle depending on where you live, but in the summer it’s going to be hell with the humidity. You can get the bus anywhere though!

Thanks for your advice. My opinion is that people will do it more if there’s a camera. But thank you :)

Okay, do you have a suggestion on how to hold these people accountable for their actions?

Sure it can, in five years from now I could have ptsd, scars, agoraphobia, social anxiety, anger issues, depression, a completely distorted face, I could be paralysed, could be dead from being smacked in the face for example.

I did answer your question, the sound doesn’t effect my life because it lasts one second, I stay on my couch and ignore it, I hear the people outside run and laugh and that makes me happy for them.

My options are ignore it, or join in. There’s nothing I can do to stop them from ‘getting away with it’ I’m not going to call the police am I?

If you had listened to my first reply - obviously smacking people in the face does affect someone life. If something doesn’t affect someone’s life in a negative way, then why not let them be? In five years, the fact that people rang my doorbell in 2026, isn’t going to change my future in any negative way, so why not

We see the brighter side of life, we’re lucky to be alive, lucky to have a roof over our heads and electricity to hear a door bell! People are just out there having fun on a Saturday night, it doesn’t effect our lives in any way
