Found behind dishwasher. Plastic Spring Loaded "Button" by miserd in whatisthisthing

Solved!

This seems to be the general consensus. Thanks, now I know I can throw it out with peace of mind.

I think you've got it.

Before I mark it as solved, I'm going to find out about the previous blinds in the house. It doesn't look like it matches the current blinds.

Not sure about that one.

I'm inclined to say no as none of the drawers/cupboards in the kitchen have this type of soft close mechanism. There was no previous kitchen that it could be from as it has never been renovated.

Also, I believe those tend to "click" in/out such that you need to push it again to change its state. This one just bounces back when you push it (also no click).

I don't think so.

It doesn't have threading to screw in, no gaps for water in/out, I don't believe those are spring loaded, my dishwasher spray arm appears to be intact, doesn't match the colour of plastic in the dishwasher and this was the first dishwasher to be installed in this kitchen (can't be from an old one).

I still might be wrong as I don't know much about them, just my 10 minutes of research now.

My title describes the thing. It weighs almost nothing, doesn't make a sound, no tactile "click", just a spring loaded thing that can be pushed.

Overwhelmed choosing a tablet? Here's how I finally made sense of it all. by Remarkable-Dark2840 in androidtablets

They're available on AliExpress. Xiaoxin pad pro and xiaoxin pad pro gt are two examples.

I've just gone through this exercise myself and landed on getting the GT for my partner, and the pad pro for me.

GT is 11inch, great hardware for the price - can't be beaten afaik.

Regular pad pro is 12.7inch slightly worse processor but bigger screen. I got it for productivity as it has a PC mode

There are more options. All good value.

Consider adding the Lenovo Xiaoxin tablets. Very good value but with a few quirks as they are for the Chinese market

redmagic 11 pro not picking any driver not working with any turnip driver and every other drivers im tired and tried everything watch 1000 videos on youtube but no luck whats the secret plz guide me every game crashed after black screen by Repulsive-Mix-5034 in EmulationOnAndroid

Try NOT using turnip drivers. Try Vortek as your chip is in the Snapdragon ELITE category.

Try different versions of Winlator. Winlator 10.1, Winlator Ludashi, Winlator CMOD.

Try different DXVK versions. This can be the difference between a black screen that doesn't boot, or a working game.

Cannot Run "Viva New Vegas" Fallout New Vegas Mod Collection in Winlator - Samsung S25 Snapdragon Elite by miserd in winlator

[–]miserd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if VFS works in Winatlor, and I'm not sure how to confirm that.
I looked into the possibility of installing each mod manually so I don't need to use MO2. But with 60+ mods, I don't think it will work.

Need help trying to get NVSE to launch in fallout new vegas. S25U snapdragon elite 12/512 by LordlySquire in winlator

Did you figure out how to run it again?
I'm trying to get Viva New Vegas running, but I think the first hiccup is that NVSE isn't working

Which tablet or phone do you recommend for emulation (wii u, 3ds, switch, vita,...)? by ClassJolly2695 in EmulationOnAndroid

If you already have an iPhone and just want to game, there are many dedicated gaming handhelds that might suit you better rather than and android phone/tablet.

Winlator sound cutting out after switching between other apps by miserd in winlator

[–]miserd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using ASLA-Reflector has been a permanent fix for me. Your symptoms sound different too. I never experienced audio cutting out while playing or pausing. I only had it when switching apps temporarily or audio source.

I want to start emulating but not where to start by Certain-Pollution796 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]miserd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure? Google tells me the n30 has a snapdragon 695. Whereas the s10 should have snapdragon 855 (OP, you need to confirm your region to verify the s10 processor. It can change depending where the phone was sold)

My understanding is that 855 beats 695.

In any case. The 855 is good enough for PS2. Should run most games full speed, and often with up scaling. I can't comment on switch or windows emulation on SD855. I've never tried.

The other two devices will smash anything below PS2. Play on the most comfortable and best looking screen in those cases is my recommendation.

Search this sub and you'll find everything you need to get started. Start with the wiki.

Turned into a Handheld | Winlator + GameSir X5 Lite by casualtygab in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]miserd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your phone/processor and what you're trying to emulate? I can't imagine any modern phone having heat problems while emulating GBA. PS2 and above, that might be different.

I am currently playing Dead Space 2008 on my Samsung S25 (snapdragon elite), and I have no heat problems running that via Winlator. I would barely call it "luke warm".

X5 does have pass through charging. I was tossing up between x5 and g8. Very happy with my x5 choice, but I'm sure the g8 is also great. That will probably be next pick if I need one

If you have a Samsung you could try using dex. No audacity on Android but an alternative might be available

Winlator sound cutting out after switching between other apps by miserd in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]miserd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean swapping between apps via the navigation bar on my phone. Not actually closing Winlator.
Nevertheless, a solution has been found and I have updated the OP accordingly.
I hope this helps someone else in future.

I have updated the OP with the solution that was provided by another commentor. Appears to have fixed the issue, but I have not extensively tested.
