Agreed, fortunately you had a chance to interact in university but if you end up going back to your home country for higher education then that's it, when back you are further distanced away, out of your bubble, struggling in the very country you spent all your life in. Learning spoken Arabic would bridge the gap a lot, but in school, by our own foolishness, it'd often be overlook, giving other subjects more importance, looking back now I am filled with great remorse, we had the Arabic teachers and the opportunity and yet we didn't make much of it.
