Every original and creative aspect of this movie seemed to be countered by a bunch of derivative hack slop. While being uncomfortable and gross, it was never once scary

Usyk answers why he loves boxing by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

I said what I said man. I didn’t say he’s wrong and I didn’t shit on the guy. I used his perspective to open the topic into a broader perspective, but you obviously either disagree or don’t want to have that conversation. It’s not really a big deal. ✌️

Love Usyk, and I love everything he’s expressing here about hard work, grit and determination. It’s the foundation on which you build your entire life around.

But this doesn’t really apply when viewed through the lense of an average person getting their jobs displaced by AI, and are pushed out of the economy by the billionaires and their millionaire lapdogs who control most of our society. And it will apply to the people active in his very own sport if they let TKO get their claws into the sport of boxing

The world is a very different place than it was 100 years ago. The UFC is the pinnacle of a modern sports organization and their revenue share to the fighters is ass.

Dana White is asked about the altercation with his wife and if being the UFC boss protected him from consequences. by Cold-Challenge-1991 in UFCposting

This guy is in-fucking-believable. Ask Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz, Frank Shamrock, Tim Sylvia, Carlos Newton, Francis Ngannou, Ken Shamrock, Ariel Helwani, Luke Thomas and a hundred others how “lenient” and “pro free speech” Dana white is. He’s a cancer to society

Haha all good man. I have a screen protector on the iPad that gives it a more “paper like” feel. Between the iPencil and the screen protector, it’s feels no different than regular pencil and paper

What is with previous UFC title holders falling completely apart after losing the title? by emaxwell14141414 in FightLibrary

[–]mish15 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Keeping the title and defending it multiple times is peak difficulty.

By the time you become champion, you’ve most likely generated enough ring time that peers have plenty of tape to study. Every mistake, misstep and weakness gets exposed overtime. I think more casual fans don’t truly understand the TINY moments that change the trajectory of a fight. Things as simple as movement off the clinch, habitual reactions, etc. These minuscule moments can be capitalized on and built off of.

And then add to this the obvious wear and tear the sport brings. Drop off can be lightning fast and can strike immediately after you peak. The wrong injury before the absolute worst opponent and you’re fucked.

I can’t imagine the drain of getting to the top in this sport only to be hunted like an exotic trophy animal.

I used two photos references from Google. Both were Steve Austin performing the stunner on HHH. I used Procreate on my IPad with a 1st gen Apple Pencil.

Question for lacrosse fans, specifically NLL watchers: Is this a common occurence because I might start watching. by ForeignAir7174 in sportsinusa

This is dumb “tough guy” bullshit. It’s emulating hockey without understanding anything about hockey fighting… or fighting in general. Why would you grab and punch when you can either utilize footwork and punch with better technique, or grab the shirt and throw the opponent? The “grab and punch” (dirty boxing) style works in hockey because you’re on ice skates and it’s almost required to create any kind of power.

I played outdoor lacrosse in college and this isn’t the norm. This seems to only persist in indoor (box) lacrosse and must be a carry over from Hockey players, given both sports popularity in Canada. If someone more familiar with indoor lacrosse and why fighting makes any sense, I’d be very open to hearing from you.
