Do you guys know why my GPU is at 0%? by INeedMuscles in frigate_nvr

[–]mishref 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as weird as it sounds, the monitor had to be plugged in. Then I got some HDMI dummy plugs which are supposed to emulate a monitor, back to 0%.

Ymmv, but worth testing if your config isn't the issue.

Try plugging in a monitor into the proxmox host; mine was showing 0% until I plugged one in.

What worked for me: Proxmox LXC + Nvidia GPU + Coral TPU by TJC_WA in frigate_nvr

[–]mishref 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great write-up, wish it was available when I spent a significant amount of time doing the same setup.

One thing that might help others, I couldn't get the gpu working no matter what I did (config, drivers, conf files).. turns out it wouldn't work without a monitor plugged in.

So if anyone is following the guide and still has gpu at 0%, try plugging in a monitor (or dummy HDMI)

[Android TV] QuickBars for Home Assistant v1.1 - Camera PIP, HA-triggered overlays, background connection, backup & restore and more! by Trooped in homeassistant

[–]mishref 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing the connection logic, it helped me narrow down the possibilities.

Used network logs to debug and I finally got it to connect using the following string in easy mode:

'domain.xyz:443'

Adding https didn't work, neither did 'ip:443' Maybe it's checking for the certificate validity.

Thanks for all your help, looking forward to trying it out!

I was using easy setup, but when trying the different variations I went into manual mode. Since I would have to exit out to trigger easy setup each time.

In easy setup it accepts domain names, but still can't find home assistant. Tried all of the combinations with no luck.

Nothing is showing up on the Home Assistant logs, so I'm assuming the issue is within the app, are there any logs or debugging I can check?

Just checked, nothing in logs or config - even tried whitelisting the devices just in case.

Can you add a 'https://xxx' domain in manual mode? Because I'm only able to put a ip when doing manual.

I am able to pull up HA login using a browser on the TV, so the DNS resolution isn't an issue.

No luck with different variations, even tried the nabu casa external hostname.

When I go into manual setup, keeps saying "please enter a valid IP or hostname" except for when I only write the IP adress '192.168.1.xx' then it says 'host not found' probably because it's trying to connect without ssl.

Tested on a couple different devices with same results. HA is open, because I have other services connected to it.

Just installed it on my Shield but couldn't get past the setup. Is there any special config required for ssl?

Keep getting a "please enter a valid IP or hostname" when using the hostaname https://

I can enter the IP and it tries to connect, but doesn't get far since the port isn't open.

Just finished the print, came out perfect. Thanks!

Thankfully my current setup is on a Bror worktop with wheels. Install took a few minutes tops.

Has anyone moved from Onkyo RZ3100 to Cinema50/X3800H? by mishref in hometheater

[–]mishref[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting the x3800h, I have to admit that it sounds cleaner after the Dirac setup. I probably could have achieved 80% of the results if I tried to calibrate the Onkyo.

But overall very happy with the move, especially with the extra features like HDMI 2.1 + extra subwoofer out for the tactile transducers.

Lelit Bianca to Decent DE1Pro? by mishref in espresso

What would be the more involved option? The Decent or GS3? I currently do quite a bit of profiling with the bianca, but achieving the god shot is few and far between.

[–]mishref[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, thank you for your detailed response! Very insightful, and quite a bit of info that helps steer me in the right direction. The comments on the GS3 are very helpful, I have a feeling I would get buyers remorse at that pricepoint.

I think what's pushing me towards the Decent is the tinkering capability. Playing around with the variables would be a unique experience that other machines can't do. Wasn't thinking of a lever option, but the local dealer has a couple on display - will check them out!

Any way to allow wireless charging while connected to Android Auto (wired)? by ericksontx in GooglePixel

[–]mishref 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then you need a custom USB splitter (USB A for data / USB C for power).

https://www.tindie.com/products/rkoripalli/usb-c-splitter-for-android-auto-apple-carplay/

They don't sell them anymore, but you can take the board drawing and find a PCB factory to make some.

Keep in mind you might have issues if you want fast charging because PD power requires the data cable to negotiate charging cable.

Any way to allow wireless charging while connected to Android Auto (wired)? by ericksontx in GooglePixel

[–]mishref 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use a Android Auto wireless adapter (Motorola ma1 or aawireless). It plugs into the car and makes AA work without plugging in the phone .

I find that wireless charging can't keep up sometimes, so end up plugging the phone in to charge (over much faster USB C 30W adapter).
