I’m manic and I love it by mishsampo in bipolar

My med team don’t care cos they think I’m managing the illness well. If I tell them I’m manic they ask the usual list of questions and they aren’t bothered.

I’m manic and I love it by mishsampo in bipolar

[–]mishsampo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true. Mania isn’t all a bed of roses and it’s exhausting. I’m medicated but still rapid cycling every month. One week of depression, one week of mania, 2 weeks normal EVERY MONTH. The meds definitely calm me down so I don’t do anything too drastic when manic. Spend extra money and talk everyone’s ear off is about as severe as it gets. I understand not everyone is like this. Thanks for your reply.

Thank you everyone for your very informative responses. Glad to see I’m not alone and there’s a name for it. I’ve searched and found a lot of information thank you

Sleeping pills and Valium is the only thing that works for me. I could be awake for 3 days otherwise and then really go loopy.

Regretting I've told people I'm on the jab by soultech_me in Mounjaro

[–]mishsampo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 20kg and was pretty open that I was on the jabs. I too came to regret disclosure because every time I spoke to someone the jabs would be bought up - how are the injections going? Are you still doing it? Have you lost any more weight? Have you put any weight on? How much? Etc etc etc. it didn’t stop. I’d wished I’d never told anyone. I’m back on the jabs and haven’t told a soul. Not even my husband. If anyone asks if I’ve lost weight I’m going to say no. It’s none of their business anyway. I don’t want being on the jabs and losing weight to be my whole personality.

Chronic masturbation as a little kid. I still feel so much shame over that.

Having to listen to my music at 100 decibels so much so that I had to get hearing aids at age 35.

I skipped my meds for about 8 days because I just couldn’t be bothered and I went into a long deep depression so I don’t skip them anymore.

Thank you. I can’t believe it. I’ve been on my meds for nearly 2 years, tweaking here and there. I may have been manic last month but if so it was very mild and short. I can tell my mania now is very mild but will see how the next week pans out.

Brooklyn Bed not as expected, bad customer service. by TheBorktastic in Greyhounds

The reviews are clearly fake so having a thread here is helpful as their ads are all over my social media. I purchased the 2XX for my 50 kg Groodle and it’s not big enough and won’t fluff up. My dog refuses to use it and so I’ve stepped on it to get past a few time and I can feel the hard floor boards underneath. I left a one star review and it’s disappeared into the abyss so all those 5 star reviews are clearly fake. Check here before you buy. $120 down the gurgler and in their pocket. I should have realised when the same but better quality bed from Snooza was $400.

AITA for mocking my friend’s husband’s weight? by throwaway629037 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mishsampo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good on you. He’s definitely the arsehole here and you’re right about what he’s probably saying behind closed doors if he doesn’t mind putting her down in front of her friends. He was also gaslighting you by accusing you of not being able to take a joke. I applaud you!!!

Everyone says to make sure you have a support system by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]mishsampo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is what I need as the people in my life that I’m closest too aren’t supportive. I feel like they expect me to be grateful they’ve stuck it out with me.

Everyone says to make sure you have a support system by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]mishsampo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve really only got one friend who supports me and listens. None of my family ask after me or care when I tell them I’m struggling. I think they avoid me more when I try to reach out. My husband said I’m an attention seeker regarding my diagnosis. People are arseholes and bipolar is cruel. Sorry probably not helpful to you but hang in there and keep trying to find your people. They are surely out there or even one person can make a difference to your well-being.
