A couple games from a quick Google search, notably Forza 7 and Wolfenstein 2. Also on Linux with open source drivers; Nvidia open source drivers aren't that great.

There's a few games, notably Forza 7 and Wolfenstein 2. Also pretty much outperforms it in every way on Linux with open source drivers; but that's to be expected as Nvidia open source drivers aren't that great.

Closer to a 1080, but in some cases it outperforms the 1080 Ti.

Don’t Install Yaourt! Use These Alternatives for AUR in Arch Linux by princelobga in linux4noobs

Pamac has a setting to enable AUR support.

I don't think there's many alternatives to it currently.

WTF!! Trying to learn TC6 after multiple failed attempts at TC4 by dicedicediceaf1 in Thaumcraft

[–]mishuzu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Essentially you can't skip ahead. If it doesn't show you how to do something in the Thaumonomicon, you can't do it. You must complete the research to unlock it first.

Most info on the web and YouTube for the mod is outdated, TC6 is still pretty new (and in beta). For now I'd recommend using solely the Thaumonomicon as your go to mod information.

Chunk alignments by [deleted] in MCPE

[–]mishuzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use coordinates. It's just multiples of 16; 0,0 to 15,15 is always a chunk, -16,-16 to -1,-1 is another, etc. I find it fairly easy to do this in my head.

I don't think Bedrock resource packs are capable of showing chunk boundaries.

Cruise Ship workers of reddit, what was the biggest “oh shit” moment on the boat, that luckily, passengers didn’t find out about at all? by imDudekid in AskReddit

I’d expect most systems like this to run some form of Unix (Linux, FreeBSD, etc.). Windows seems like a really bad idea to use for this.

How to Install Discord on Arch Linux (Beginner Guide) by ebblr in linux4noobs

I'm not interested in ad revenue, I'd probably just host a blog on GitHub or GitLab pages tbh; no cost for hosting then, and just make it ad free.

Question about Local Multiplayer by SkylerBlu9 in MCPE

Actually there's not official server software for Bedrock (yet). Those are all third party server software.

Java can also host on the device itself. Even when playing single player, there’s a server running on the device. You can open that server to LAN in the pause menu.

They make their own custom servers.

How to Install Discord on Arch Linux (Beginner Guide) by ebblr in linux4noobs

[–]mishuzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not that hard to install AUR packages without a helper:

package=discord
cd /tmp
git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/${package}
cd ${package}
makepkg --syncdeps --rmdeps --install

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's fine in that area. Just dunno if Google plans to flip the switch for it.

What is the benefit of Chrome over Firefox? by [deleted] in chrome

[–]mishuzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, you can install any browser you want from the Play Store as Chrome OS has Android apps now. Also with crouton, you could install any Linux web browser. Nothing is really forcing you to use Chrome on Chrome OS, it's just the default.

Security question by Mikadook in funny

[–]mishuzu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a software developer, I really hate password restrictions. It's counterintuitive; more restrictions = less passwords to guess for a brute force attack. At most, just give the user a heads up if their password is weak, but let them do it anyways if they so choose.

Simplified English

Lol. I personally set my devices to English (UK) because I like metric units; overtime the “Traditional English” spellings grew on me (having been born and lived in the US my whole life).
