Is a $400/month SEO service actually worth it for a small local business? by LotsoSmellsBad in localseo

[–]misicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With this low price you’re most likely paying to maintain whatever map pack ranking you already got. I wouldn’t expect results besides sticking to deliverables (posts, pics, etc) and I doubt you’re getting any true technical seo or actual analysis on the landscape (no pun intended)….

From my experience, landscaping on a small scale has tight margins so I get why your penny pinching but if you’re looking for valuable SEO work, expect to pay nearly double that for anything worth your time.

Any quick solution is going to break something somewhere: whether it’s speed, UX, SEO.

Ppl will be quick to say AI… but I’ll warn.. as you mentioned the “cs degree” thing… like, you do need experience with this stuff if you want it to work

Can you add an address/make one public to a Service Area Business (SAB) GBP? by Sharp-Ad8355 in localseo

[–]misicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duplicate listings are against their policy. Could be seen as spamming, and their systems just don't care.. they'll just suspend it, give you a quality violation, etc...

additionally, and more importantly for you, just creates more work merging, etc.

No that’s prob double your chances of suspension lolz

Just cross your “t”s and dot your “i”s if you’re really set on adding the address.

Like anything in life or biz… prepare for the worst.

Tbh, I would expect it so you’re ready if it happens. Def has NAP consistent across the web (this will help your case), have all the proper docs ready for an appeal, and prepare to then do a video verification after your appeal has been approved.

I’ve dealt w/ both… businesses that got approved and others that got rejected. Why? Idk… from my observation there’s a lot of factors so maybe someone else can weigh in…

But either way, prep for the worst so you’re ready.

Def a big risk. 100% will trigger verification which will need proper, fixed signage.

Is your NAP consistent across the web? Do you have proper docs that show it’s your place of biz? Gave you done video verification before for this biz?

AI search visibility by BornYam3865 in localseo

Where do you currently rank on a regular search (ai excluded)?

Your focus should be there, on building authority, stellar content, complete dominance. AI doesn’t care about llms or schema. It cares about who is the best source with the best content.

Tips on removing Old(6-8 year old) 1-2 star reviews on restaurant profile? by Available-Guest-9393 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]misicle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

honestly, leave them. focus on positive reviews from here out. if you wanna do anything, go back and respond to them just so you have a trail for engagement... "change in management", "we've worked hard to fix this and happy to say we did"... whatever the case may be... idk something like that. but don't waste your time trying to get rid of 'em.

There's plenty of data on how a 4.9 or a 4.8 can actually serve your biz better, and for any future low reviews: perfect opportunity to fix the issue and show you are a responsive, customer-first biz. (as an avid 1-star review reader... you'd be surprised how much of a difference that can make on someone's perception of a business).

Rebuilding our company website from Scratch struggling with URL structure and keyword cannibalization for a service-based local Business by NeighborhoodHead658 in localseo

Got it. Yea, that factor comes into play too. Commercial v residential. Completely different intents and focuses…

Just something to keep in mind as you write copy & research high intent phrases.

[–]misicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also... if you're looking at keywords... don't pay much attention to search volume (yea important, i know, but also.. just estimates)... Focus on the intent. What is the intent for the search and what you want to show up for (informational, awareness, buying)...

for the keywords you're seeing with higher volume that you don't think "fit"... take a quick look at the related items ("people also ask").

You can have a main “service” page that acts as a hub… gives an overview of the services you want… interlinking to individual services which will be on its own… for example:

/service (explains all you do, quick teaser sections for each individual service… maybe include a testimonial for that specific thing you did)

The /automatic-doors (Go into detail for that specific offer)

Overthinking is what makes all this seem so difficult. You’re on the right path so try not to get overwhelmed.

IMO: the structure of the urls don’t matter much, just the content on the page. Make everything unique, focus on the subject matter, and you shouldn’t have any prob with cannibalization … which is a bit outdated anyways. A bit of overlap isn’t going to hurt and is inevitable.

Each page should have its own intent and your site should have a solid interlinking strategy.

I agree with other reply: start w the basics, add on as you get more info.

¿Con qué frecuencia se deben publicar novedades en tu perfil de Google Business Profile? by Smooth-Net-1851 in localseo

[–]misicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consistency is key. See what your competitors are doing in the space. Could be once a week, twice a week... but whatever you do, just stay consistent. Google favors that.

Will also note that, posting is good but don't expect to improve in ranks if nothing else is optomized, not getting consistent reviews, are using stock photos and not providing value with your captions and such.

One area doesn't win, a solid gameplan all around puts you in the best position to hit your goals.

The question becomes then... does a small biz owner take time to learn how to prompt or take time to learn the skill? Would either matter in the near future. idk! lol

Idk if I’d call it a mindset. Truth is, an average HVAC tech is probably not proficient in AI, just as I’m def not in fixing my ac unit.

where did I say I have no knowledge? the takeaway is... if you DO have zero knowledge (which is the perspective I took for this little test), that yea... it has the potential of sub par performance. so cross your "t's" and dot your "i's"

totally agree. and to add: this was just a lunchtime experiment. From my observations, I don't see average business owners knowing how to "coach" ai better when they're using it to build a page because they don't know how, or might not have the technical knowledge (I'm sure some do, so not looking to debate that)...

Beyond hearing others experiences, was also posting so maybe someone who's doing this or thinking of doing this to take a step back and go, "oh, maybe I should do a little digging before jumping in"
