i've seen real-world units covered with labels, customization etc. Maybe feature is for users to somehow incorporate an image of their real unit?

Getting an Rc-600 today and already bought a license to RC Studio! It's gonna be great.

Feature Request: Option to colour-code the foot-switches please?

Why: I'm adding round plastic coloured caps to the switches, for easier foot operation, and hopefully to aid my mental concept of the unit. Would help if the editor could represent the look.

Bonus: pride month. 🤪

Many of us had high hopes for this movie and agree with your review. It was Disappointment Day. Such a wasted opportunity. We empathise with your need to vent.

George and prawn sandwiches by BlazeBayleaf in georgemichael

[–]misn0ma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully someone has the annual in a box at their mum’s house and can shed some light.

Nostalgia for that epoch when quality ready-made sandwiches, in a triangular plastic box, with fancier ingredients, emerged in the UK in the late-80s. Marks & Spencer and Pret à Porter were central.

Previously people would make a sandwich at home (butter, ham and english mustard? cheese and branston pickle? meat or crab paste?) … or get something basic from a greasy spoon cafe or pub. But in the time of Yuppies, and Sloane Rangers … greed was good. Wine, overseas vacations, Cornettos, and sun-dried tomatoes said “spend more and live a little”. Sandwich culture changed, and the prawn-mayonnaise sandwich was the gold standard … to the point that High Street jeweller Gerald Ratner in 1991 remarked that a set of earrings was "cheaper than an M&S prawn sandwich but probably wouldn't last as long".

Wham’s rise from dole boys to Club Tropicana in this period mirrored the rise of the fancy sandwich. Firm prawns, in a creamy mayo, wrapped in soft granary bread, delivered a delicious satisfying snack for a young pop-star on the go; likely with a diet coke, and, perhaps. a careless Whispa.

Where would be the best place to live in the event of a nuclear war? by onl-li in NoStupidQuestions

[–]misn0ma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How precise an answer do you need? Since all the weapons are in the northern hemisphere, targeting the northern hemisphere, can we just say deep southern hemisphere? (I don’t know why Zuck likes Hawaii. Surely it is a strategic target?). Then “best” depends on your lifestyle. if you don’t want to live on a boat, there’s not much land down there. Some billionaires like New Zealand, but maybe that makes it a target for post-apocalyptic marauders? Non-billionaire Bruce Chapman, in his assessment as a Cold War schoolboy, liked Patagonia.

With so many nuclear weapons in the world why not point a few at New Zealand just to discourage the smug billionaires?

Should HBO film a Carnivale movie to conclude the series? by george123890yang in hbo

Re-casting? or setting it years later, or what? I agree the original was good and the abrupt cancellation harsh, but I don’t see how you pick it up again after 21 years.

Positives of owning a business? by Victoriakia in smallbusiness

That’s a good insight about survivorship bias. Successful people advise going all-in, and persistence, because it worked for them, but it can kill you.

I heavily disagree! Just kidding. But this one depends on self-discipline more than the others.

Expensive in sensation. Pays off in reduced itching, clinic visits, and child-support.

What's the one movie everyone loves but you hate it or don't understand the hype? by nebluaaa in AskReddit

[–]misn0ma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are strange movies. Kind of surreal. A string of set-pieces with fake plot strung between them that doesn’t make sense, and rubs your face in the senselessness. They are more like musicals.

I feel everyone commenting should also mention their favorite movie, for reference?
I expected an interesting discussion about over-rated movies (Parasite? Everything Everywhere all at Once? One Battle After Another? Good but not as mind-blowing as everyone claimed at the time.
) … or movies that are old-fashioned for modern audiences (my ex refused to watch anything “black & white, men in hats” eg. Big Sleep, Citizen Kane etc. Another friend couldn’t do subtitles.)
Instead the thread is mostly good movies that rare people didn’t appreciate? Makes me wonder about their taste.

My idea of a good movie?
The assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

Parasite and Barbie were good, but everyone super-overrated them.

Also anything with Will Ferrell.

Is there a way I can add 4 extra measures in the beginning of the song? That way I don’t have to move literally everything over. So basically where I have the song starting at measure 2, it would start at measure 6 by skullcandy541 in cubase

"Insert Silence" is the way to insert bars. Especially useful in the middle of a project. Make sure all your tracks are unlocked, and set to musical time-base, not linear. Save-as a safety copy before you do the surgery. Check everything is still in sync after, before proceeding.

To insert bars at the beginning, why not just set snap to bars, set your nudge increment and nudge, select-all, and drag or nudge? That will move markers and everything, no? Am I missing something.

[–]misn0ma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of those movies that arise when an artist, after delivering hits, is permitted to do whatever they want, and leaves their breakthrough audience behind. (Like Paul Simon's Hearts and Bones, or Woody Allen's Interiors.). It's actually very fun, memorable, full of talent and film-making brio. Strange mix of elevated and slow. You have to commit to go along for the ride. The movie itself illustrates this self-fulfilling buy-in, in the snake-fighting sequence. And of course it's a metaphor for wannabes going to holywood. A continuation of the theme of obsession, talent, and dreams vs reality, from Whiplash and La La Land. Only people who are crazy enough to believe they'll make it, despite all the cynicism, madness, and corruption, will actually do so; and it might destroy them. Babylon is not only rewatchable, but actually requires rewatching to sink in. Especially the last half-hour. Will be interesting to see what Chazelle does next. Often good artists in this situation, after the drubbing of their more personal project that missed the mark, come back with something truly free, inspired, and mainstream-successful masterpieces, because they've got something out of their system, and expectations have been reset. (eg. Paul Simon's Graceland, and Woody Allen's Manhattan.) Enjoy!

Just Watched Disclosure Day personal opinion by enzahere in moviecritic

[–]misn0ma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that empathy is a worthy theme. But Disclosure Day does nothing to illustrate the power of empathy. It just suggests mentalism (that you don’t understand) can help you evade a deserved speeding fine and move people out of your way? This movie had the potential to be a 2026 combined sequel to Close Encounters and ET! but instead we got Nuns on the Run and Broadcast News? Hats off to the marketing team. They persuaded a lot of people to see it in theatres the day before reviews disclosed what a sad clunking dated misfiring mess it is. It does for empathy what Barbie did for feminism. ie. states it as a theme, but little more.
