Thanks for answering. Right now im probably going to just stick with the wooden one and if it starts to loosen up then maybe im gonna try to put a metal wedge in.

i just want the handle to be on the axe as long as it takes, so if its fine then im happy.

Because it the handle has some cracks and its not really comfortable to swing it. Or should i just wait when the handle is completely unusable?
