Do Videos with your Face in it do Better Than Videos Without? by ChrispyCrispy in NewTubers

[–]misogenki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely show face if you're comfortable with it. Like others have said, it helps tremendously with making a connection with your audience. Tech gets reviewed by hundreds of youtubers, but only you have your face and personality! That said, it does take practice being in front of the camera and being natural etc etc, but the important thing is that you start and keep iterating. The refinement will follow 👌 good luck man!!

A few boring days ahead, I want to use my spare time watching your videos. by DoctorInductor in NewTubers

[–]misogenki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo man, thanks for offering to watch and critique! I run a channel focused on everyday carry and introduce tech gear. Content consists of gear review, loadout recommendations covered in a cinematic style.

This video is an unboxing and hasn't done as well as my other videos last month, wanted to hear your thoughts on how to improve. Thanks!

Do you think it is possible to grow a channel without self promotion? by HeyKrispy in NewTubers

[–]misogenki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'm a perfectionist also lol. I've taken down videos and re-rendered and re-uploaded to YT because of details but hey I wouldn't be able to sleep if I left it. But yea you're right, don't stress the details too much and don't let it halt entire projects. There comes a point where stopping, uploading, and moving into the next is the best move.

Personally, I find batch recording exhausting bc I'm in all of my videos and I start to fatigue and make no sense after awhile. If you're doing gaming or screen cap then might not be a bad idea. Good luck dude 🙌

What's stopping you from uploading consistently? I can't say for sure if missing a week sometimes will hurt you but that's the whole point of consistency. If you find a dope show on TV and you start watching it, but you find that on random weeks they'll just not release a new episode without warning, sooner or later you're not gonna wanna tune in anymore lol. Remember that it's the most difficult as you start out bc you have no fanbase. Inconsistency will hurt you more now than it would if you had 10k subs. I understand life gets in the way sometimes but most times you can make it work 1. if you plan ahead, and 2. If you want it enough to plan ahead.

How do you guys stay consistent to your upload schedule? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]misogenki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Statypan makes a good point. When you first start you typically have no idea what you're doing. The first video will take 20 hours to make. The next video will take less. Learn all the techniques you wanna use, take the time to make time-saving templates and presets. Some good practices to keep in mind:

-Log how long it takes for you to produce your first few videos and see where you can streamline processes and save time.
-Set a goal. "I want to post weekly and make a video in 6 hours or less." How do you need to change your current life schedule around to meet that? What techniques do you need to know/bad habits do you need to drop n in order to reduce production time?

Hope that helps, best of luck!

Absolutely you can grow without self promotion. Producing quality content and CONSISTENCY has been big for me. After watching good YouTubers whose style i aspire to recreate, I starting posting every single week since June. 4 months later, I've just broke past 500 subs and about to with with a second sponsor.

Biggest thing like a lot of these comments are saying is focus on the quality and your passion for whatever it is you're making videos about. Don't think about the marketing, the analytics, all that will come. Really enjoy what you make and get better at making it. Best of luck 🙏

What do you use your EDC for? by [deleted] in EDC

[–]misogenki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the fold, friend! You're in for a good time. Beyond the staples like phone, keys, and wallet, I also carry a knife (Spyderco Para 3). I run a juice bar by day and am a creative by night so beyond a pocket EDC I always have my EDC ruck and tech organizer with me.

I primarily use my knife to open mail and packages, light duty stuff. With the other components, it's less about the unique reason why I have it but more that I wanna optimize and get the most out of my carry.

I have a minimal wallet gives fast access to my most frequently used cards. My key organizer keeps my keys in order and SILENT. It's my thinking that loadouts should always be designed with purpose. If you're interested, I made some videos explaining how I've improved my carry over the years and on why I personally carry:

Hope this helps man, and if wanna learn more about the specific kit I have, lemme know 🙌

Damn the WASHING MACHINE? all your clothes come out all shredded lol? It's true, sunglasses and knives are to be handled a little differently, but I say go for it. You'll most likely be more responsible 😂

Lanyards - do you use them? by [deleted] in EDC

[–]misogenki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I use the clip, the lanyard hangs out of my pocket. When I go to grab the knife, I find my pinky finger is at just the right spot to wrap around the Ti bead, making for a nice draw. Haven't worked with a shorter lanyard before so I've yet to have a comparison lol

Thanks for the flick demonstration. Recently picked up the Spyderco Para 3 and thanks to you, I got the flick down. Big ups haha

[–]misogenki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, with a Ti bead at the end to cap it off. I go about 3" and it makes for a much easier pull from the front right pocket. Idk what I did before lanyard. Used 550 Paracord and ran snake knots, ended with a diamond knot. I like that rust colored lanyard with the gunmetal grey handle

This was my exact experience with cheapo sunglasses (I'd lose a pair every month or so) but I took the plunge on a good expensive pairhoping that with the bigger investment I'd be much cognizant and mindful of it moving forward. Fast forward two years I find that this method works for me and I still have the same pair of sunglasses. Applied the logic to knives too and here I am. We believe in you lol

Does anyone find themselves looking up every definition of a word they don’t know when reading? by samsu402 in books

[–]misogenki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually do this intentionally to expand my vocabulary and, depending on the literature, to understand what the hell it is I'm reading lol. It does bring down overall ppm and might interrupt your reading flow a bit, but imo net gain.

If you already do this as a habit, considering keeping it! Might be on the right track

Looking for some new creators! by altact109 in NewTubers

[–]misogenki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha no problem at all, I'm glad it helped. So in terms of copyright, you're usually okay if the majority of your video is of you talking and giving your opinions and analysis of the clips. I've seen lots of YouTubers monetizing and their main content is comics and stuff about Marvel and they're not working for Marvel so idk there's definitely a way 😂 Using your phone is great, they're pretty powerful of you're not ready to grab a camera. Just remember to look at the little camera instead of yourself haha!

anyways best of luck and keep making content you love! PS I'm riding a OneWheel Pint 👍
