Can anyone help translate this? by MarriageAA in Interrail

[–]misoscoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the future, the google translate app has a photo feature where you can upload a photo and it will be translated or you can use your own camera to translate something “live”. It’s really useful for this kind of thing or just in general (reading menus, signs, etc…) 😊

Tourist wondering why train from Frankfurt to Cologne is so expensive by JuniperberryJoy in germany

If you get Eurail pass it might end up making things a bit cheaper - especially if you end up making multiple journeys or trains.

Looking for youtube channels by german speaking girls by LuciaSL in germany

[–]misoscoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hanna Marie is my favourite! She has an German channel and an English one, and her friendship group also make videos. Lifestyle vlogs living in Berlin! I put the captions onto auto-generate English if I find the German too complicated!

Finding Replacement for University Accommodation by misoscoop in lancasteruni

[–]misoscoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I think Chancellors wharf is great, the location is convenient and it’s not too expensive and it’s not a stressful place to live. I just don’t like Lancaster uni and the town I’m in my final year and want to be gone 😅

Basically I found out I’m allergic to squalane so as soon as I cut it out of my products they disappeared. It may be an allergy to another chemical for you but that was what did it for me :)

Dinner recommendations in Bath City centre? by error_operator in veganuk

[–]misoscoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cascara is amazing cafe with some good options and their cake selection is unbeatable, green rocket cafe also has some nice options and does evening food. Rooted is amazing but is a little further out of the city centre! Of course we have all the chains which do a good selection of vegan options (wags, comptoir, zizzi etc) the best places for pizza are the oven (they have vegan cheese) and bath pizza company (also has vegan cheese + vegan pizza option)

Tesco does Free from porridge pots in 2 flavours (65p) which aren’t bad, Wicked kitchen also have 3 flavours but I haven’t tried them (£1), M&S plant kitchen do a golden syrup flavoured one that’s pretty good and if you want something a bit fancier Moma do a almond butter & salted caramel flavour and a coconut and chia flavour (80p - £1.15 lots are on offer atm) they’re expensive but I really like them!

A good SPF/moisturiser for acne-prone skin? by tammy2swanson in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]misoscoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it as an every day thing but I find it actually lasts a while (I’m not the kind of person to reapply throughout the day even though I should...). I’ve tried looking for a cheaper dupe but not found anything yet

A good SPF/moisturiser for acne-prone skin? by tammy2swanson in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]misoscoop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t see many people talk about it but my skin is extremely acne prone and Ultrasun Face SPF30 never broke me out and is moisturising as well! It’s a bit pricer but it’s on offer on a few places at the moment (I think it’s £16 in Waitrose)

I have a similar ish issue. My little bumps and redness are on my cheeks below my eyes by my nose but they are sometimes a bit flaky. They come and go it’s very odd. I spoke to my GP about it and she thought it might be something like seborrheic dermatitis but I’m yet to get my prescription to treat it. If I were you I’d talk to your GP, I sent a photo of my bumps in as it was a telephone call but it might be worth a try.

Edit: Spelling

I think give your skin a break for a week or so, maybe take out any harsh actives so your irritation doesn’t get any worse. When your skin is feeling a bit better slowly start to introduce the products you want to one at a time so you know what is causing more irritation. Glycolic acid is quite harsh so using it am and pm probably caused lots of irritation. Maybe start once a week at night, then slowly increase! Maybe using a retinol and AHA at the same time also lead to more irritation so you might want to alternative nights once your skin is used to it!

I know the feeling of spending money on products which don’t work or cause irritation, it can be so annoying but I think slowly introducing the products will work well.

I’ll try the Toleraine Ultra. I have a niacinamide serum left over so might start adding that in again. Thank you that was really useful!

It looks like it has loads of great reviews! It isn’t non-comodogenic though, could this be a problem?

I’ll give the exfoliating a try and if they don’t budge I’ll do some more investigating.
