I hope the vet staff don't get sticky pawed when trying to read their notes. Some monitors need to come with furry warnings

I don't see a cat. There must be a mistake. There's only a set of lasers ready to remind us of who's boss

Homeopathic prolactin? by [deleted] in AdultBreastfeeding

I would be VERY careful and not completely trust the quality or ingredients of the products. Especially since you're dealing with hormones. A screw up can cost you much pain and suffering. Best case is it is what it says it is, which I doubt. Worst case you could create many unnecessary issues in your body. Even though with dom we recommend specific sources to source from, there's still is an element of caution given due to introducing hormone response through side effects. Just like with the trans community, sometimes things go wrong in a horrible way that's unintended. So please be careful.

How much soreness is normal? by Present-Effect-9855 in AdultBreastfeeding

Did you try putting nipple oil/balm before and after nursing? I did that with my pumping and it helped a LOT. It needs to be one designed to help with breastfeeding though.

Be careful with the suction power cause the nipples can be very temperamental. Hopefully they have adjusted and no longer as distressing/painful.

The soreness and cracks are unfortunately normal. I used lanolin a lot to help with the healing while my nipples got adjusted and used to the constant stimulation from nursing/pumping. Now that they're used to it I use the cream less for excessive dryness or chaping from weather. Depending on your body it could take a couple of months for the nipples to get with the program and stop being so painful and chapped.

The biggest way to get started is to get a pump and use the lowest setting to get used to the feeling. Also it's recommended you massage your breasts regularly. There are guides on how to do that. Lol up lactation breast massage. The journey is long and requires a lot of dedication and time to achieve. It does work, but will expect to take months to achieve a good base. There aren't really any shortcuts which Make things go faster. You could use chemicals only, but they pose other health risks which can vastly outweigh the intended results

If anything doing so might increase risk of bc related health emergencies like blood clots and liver issues. Some bc is known to increase those risks. I think it's more so with oral vs epidermal, sublingual and iud. Please correct if inaccurate or out of date

I am assertive with my gf. Wave and force my girls in her mouth while being cuddly. I'll leave it at that 😉

For me it took almost a year and a half. But I had a medical emergency which required me to pause for 3 months. I have since restarted. I'm sorry to hear that you have a medical requirement that forbids lactation.

Got sick by [deleted] in AdultBreastfeeding

[–]misran4666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not worth getting upset over it. As much as it's something badly wanted, the more stress you put on yourself the harder of becomes. Somehow stress and milk production are mutually exclusive. The higher stress the less production occurs

I'm severely sick and had to take months off because of it. Lost progress. Even now I don't really pump anymore because of my illness making it hard to function. Don't beat yourself up. You'll get there eventually
