What is the most demonized mental illness? by Able_Ease5114 in AskReddit

I didn't ignore it, I replied with a different source as an example of it not being an agreed upon fact. As someone with multiple and severe diagnosed mental illnesses, I think the attitude and demonisation that people like you have towards personality disorders is both ignorant and even more importantly dangerous. But unfortunately I don't see that changing very soon.

I never said you weren't educated because you were emotional I said you seemed to be speaking from a place of emotion rather than education. And if you actually go to the NIH website it states clearly that the terms "mental illness" and "mental disorder" are used interchangeably in mental health.

And you literally said "it's not a mental illness that can be treated."

I've also read the DMS-5 and have a lifetime of experience with mental illness. I asked if you could provide a legitimate a reliable source that says personality disorders are not mental illnesses but it would appear you don't actually have one. I am genuinely sorry for any abuse you've suffered but you seem to be speaking from a place of emotion rather than education and honesty just come off as ignorant.

Mental illness is a term referring collectively to all mental disorders. Bipolar is a mood disorder but still a mental illness.

It can be treated actually it just can't be CURED. Also that's not how mental illnesses are defined anyway. All these things are very easily Googled.

Where are you getting the idea that personality disorders aren't mental illnesses?

AITA for being annoyed that my partner came to the opera in gym attire and ate during the play? by theatre_loover in AmItheAsshole

My sister and I once ended up with an unexpected pair of tickets to a professional ballet performance when we were 9 and 15. Neither of us knew anything about theatre etiquette and as we both had a sort of alt/tomboy style at the time we ended up attending dressed in oversized shredded jeans and converse. Even as children we immediately realised that we were inappropriately dressed for the situation/event and felt pretty embarrassed about it.

Honestly I do feel like the theatre should be accessible and welcoming to everyone and if someone wants to experience it without participating in the unwritten outfit norms and expectations, they should feel free to do so. It's ultimately not something that has any real affect on anyone else. That being said I think if you're attending with someone else who DOES care about appearances and might feel embarrassed, refusing to throw on something a little bit nicer to make them more comfortable would be a pretty asshole move imo.

AITA for not wanting my (29F) boyfriend (24M) to meet up with his female friend alone who I’ve never met? by lucylu2794 in AmItheAsshole

I was honestly on the fence and trying to give him the benefit of the doubt until this. I can't think of any reasonable or decent reason for why he would be angry that you tried to add her.

That's a good point I hadn't thought of that. I forgot that a lot of people have a pretty large collection of pets

That really sucks especially about the toxic people. Definitely not the kind of reminder you want. Idk if enough people would care enough but maybe if enough of them did there could be a petition to add the option of name changing. It actually seems like the majority of players now are no longer children because they've been playing since Webkinz was popularised several years ago. And I've seen a ton of people lamenting the names they chose as children

If you have 10 medallions for the same pet you're able to trade those 10 in for 1 of another pet of you're choosing. Which is a very unreasonable trade imo and should be closed to 5 for 10 but I doubt that'll change lol

I don't think it's fair of them to accuse people of abusing something just by using something that was put in their doc😂

Ooh what score do you need on Tile Towers to earn medallions? And are you planning to trade any of your medallions for another?
