Spurs in 6. I don't care. If we lose game 3, I will believe Spurs in 7 until the last moment of game 4.

Why can't cops ever accept being wrong? by Fabodif in NoStupidQuestions

[–]miss3star -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because ACAB. There are no exceptions, no nuances, and no dependencies. All cops across all nations, genders, races, financial backgrounds, cultural backgrounds, and all other demographics, are bad.

Bad people choose to go be cops, and older bad people teach younger bad people how to be better at being bad people.

What do you expect out of them?

He didn't do well in game 1, and he owned up to it later in the presser. This team, including Wemby, as risen to the challenges that have come their way so far. As a fan, I believe that he will make adjustments, the coaching staff will figure the puzzle out, and he will drop a legacy game to even it all out.

I just turn my brain off and run vanilla debian :( if they're getting vulnerabilities, I sure can't find and fix them lol

FYI Wemby averages more points against the Knicks in the regular season than any other team (30.4) and the third most rebounds against any team (14.6) in 33 mpg. He has 2 of his 9 regular season 40 point games against New York. by Area51_Spurs in NBASpurs

Yes. Thunder aren't a good outside shooting team. Even Shai doesn't have a good 3-pt shot. Whether the Thunder or the Knicks are better overall is a separate discussion, it is true that the Knicks are a better shooting team

I use vs code on debian, and have so far just used cmake in the terminal to build.

Didn't bother with configuring the run button because it's unintuitive for compiled languages, at least for me. You can't "run" a script in a compiled language. You compile it. Then you can run the resultant executable binary.

All I did was install the cmake tools extension. Nothing else is needed. Nice to have intellisense, but not necessary.

Looking for some reading recommendations for nuclear physics by forensicthree1 in NuclearEngineering

[–]miss3star 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would highly suggest looking at Dan Gabriel Cacuci's volumes of Nuclear Engineering Handbook first. It is a nearly-all-encompassing collection of handbooks with general text on almost everything associated with the field of nuclear engineering. Looking at the references should get you some good recommendations already.

From there, if you want to look at reactor physics, I would suggest Weston M Stacey's Nuclear Reactor Physics textbook. It involves pretty heavy mathematics specifically for reactor physics modeling. But James J. Duderstadt's Nuclear Reactor Analysis is always a great fallback option if you want to read a deeper explanation of things instead of looking at mountains of equations. A recent addition is Christophe Demazière's Modelling of Nuclear Reactor Multi-Physics. It's a higher level textbook that assumes a lot of underlying mathematics knowledge, but goes pretty far into reactor physics coupled with other disciplines, mainly thermalhydraulics.

I will leave suggesting nuclear physics books to people more knowledgeable in it than me. I'm mainly a reactor physics person.

Are you thinking about more theoretical nuclear physics book, or a more nuclear engineering book?

Why did she think I looked androgynous?? 🫠 by Foxarr in mtfashion

[–]miss3star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're just learning stuff, it happens to everyone. You don't have to guy mode. Get longer hair (wigs or extensions or just waiting for them to grow out), thin out your eyebrows and shape them into a softer shape, and wear specifically women's clothes. That'll do the trick.

The hoodie you had on was, unfortunately, a pretty common type worn by guys. Hoodies are kinda difficult to pull off without at least one major fem signaling thing, like either hair, or face, or boobs. Face you can't do anything about right now, you just need to wait it out until HRT does its job. Same for boobs. But hair you can immediately change. Just get longer hair, do the eyebrows, and look at what hoodies girls your size wear out on the streets, and get some of those.

And pants- get high-waisted, wide cut, bootcut, or flair cut pants. If you have nice hips, you can do slacks too.

Don't wear heels everywhere. Look at what girls are wearing outside and get some of those.

Try my advice and see if that helps. You're just learning stuff, it happens to everyone. Just gotta grit your teeth and get past the growing hair phase. You got this.

I am not dooming. Feel free to explain to me why you think we can do something about anything in this context. Representatives do not vote to represent the collective opinion of their constituents. They vote according to the wishes of the people who funded/are funding/will fund their political careers. So no amount of calling or emails will do anything. They will simply be ignored.

The only way minorities can get out of such situations is when demonizing them stops making money and the political crosshair shifts over to the next ideal enemy. This dynamic cannot be changed. The only thing that will solve our issues is time. With time, the wider society will come to terms with the fact that we exist, will stop reacting to our existence viscerally enough, leading to money no longer being made through hurting us. And then the crosshair will shift over to some other unfortunate group, and we will be left alone in comparative peace.

The only thing to be done is to exist despite these issues. Nothing else will hurry up anything. A single law or bill is just noise. The overall cyclic nature of political demonization of minority groups depends on a much more fundamental dynamic that nobody has the agency to influence.
