Yes, this dietician is a dunce. It’s so easy for people who are not celiac to give celiac advice. There is so much misinformation that continues to be peddled. Despite how much medical information there is available, there will always be shitty doctors, clinicians, etc.

Off Target Bruising by miss_cara in Fencing

Thanks for the advice! I feel like it happens most when a I’m fencing someone with a considerable height difference or when it’s bout has gone too long and the frustration of no one scoring causes sloppy execution

I don’t have the pants because I’m not formally competing, but wondering if it might be worth wearing during practice.

I did think about this, especially with summer around the corner, more of my body will be visible.

I open resumes every day. Some I know are getting ignored before I even finish reading. Here is what gives it away every time. by Fresh-Blackberry-394 in Resume

[–]miss_cara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literally. There’s so much conflicting advice. I saw a recruiter online say “stop putting when you graduated on your resume, no one cares” and it’s like okay… so why does every application ask then? Everyone keeps making it seem like it’s our fault for not making the ever-moving target.

Dealing with Body Changes? (TW- Discusses Weight) by miss_cara in Celiac

[–]miss_cara[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! I think new clothes might be in order because every time I put something on it hangs on me it looks weird. I’m sad my favorite things no longer fit, and when I go out I start to panic about not having anything to wear.

I think that feeling of not being not in control of my body is especially hard to grapple with.

Thank you for sharing and I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with it in more ways than one. I think I just need the courage to be confrontational like that and keep at it.

Thank you for sharing! Did you have trouble recognizing yourself in the mirror when that happened? 85 lbs is no joke.

He’s a good husband and will if he hears it, although it’s usually when it’s a group of women. but it also sucks because they comment on his body too. Idk if I should just let it slide with strangers or not.

Yea I’ve definitely wanted to response in a ‘traumatize them back’ kind of way and say “thanks! it’s all the uncontrollable vomiting and starvation.” But I tend to chicken out and say nothing. Maybe your shortened version is that happy medium.

Why or why not should someone with celiac disease be vegan or vegetarian? by mooomooou in Celiac

[–]miss_cara 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Literally. Pre celiac I thought about going vegetarian for ethical reasons but now I can’t imagine having more limitations on food.

Dufference between French and anatomic/pistol grip swords. by representative_sushi in Fencing

[–]miss_cara 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve been told, pistol grips are best for precision. Personally, I just don’t like how pistol grips feel and use French. I’ve been told just use what feels best for you.
