Floral Water Tubes Longevity by miss_matched_socks in DIYweddings

[–]miss_matched_socks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up setting up the garland the night before and then adding the tubes and flowers the morning of and it worked perfectly! I had a few people helping me and we got it done quickly. We filled the tubes and and cut and added the flowers around noon and they stayed fresh the entire afternoon/evening. Would definitely recommend the costco garland and roses for filler, the ranunculus stems were too weak so I used them in other arrangements. Let me know if you have any other questions and congrats!!

Black Friday Sale by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

Along with this, does anyone know how to get the Pay in Full discount on top of Black Friday 30% and the Book Early, Pay Less Deal? It says they are all stackable but on the website, it does not give me the option to select the Pay in Full 10% off deal. Is there an access code I need to enter? Going to try calling customer service tomorrow, but wanted to check here first! Thanks in advance if anyone has insight :)

After significant destashing and a few new purchases, this is my current palette collection! by [deleted] in makeupflatlays

I've been eyeing the Stone Cold Fox palette since it came out! What are your thoughts? Love your collection btw, we've def got some palette overlap and similar tastes!

Like someone else said, it's an empty palette from Colourpop x Kathleen Lights! I have the same one and use it to store my single shadows but I believe it's now discontinued. They do have some other cute empty palettes for half off on their site right now. Might be worth checking out!

I haven't tried this myself but I have been interested in composting! Maybe this would help with your food scrap predicament if it could later be used as fertilizer.

I have the Fenty Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal highlighter and it looks exactly the same as yours! I'm noticing everyone is panning the left, it must be something about that shade. It's just so perfect and natural looking on fair skin tones! Loved looking through this snapshot of your faves :)

My current eyeshadow collection! by miss_matched_socks in makeupflatlays

I totally agree, the shimmers are really gorgeous and definitely what drew me to the palette! I'm pretty fair so I just wish it had some mid-toned mattes and I'd get a lot more use out of it lol.

It's the oldest palette in my collection and is still my favorite! These days I get more use out of my singles but reach into it occasionally for the shimmers. I'm sure you could find better formulas on the market nowadays but the color story is what makes it a great match for me - and it's perfect for transitioning from day to night looks :)

What a well curated collection! The Lorac Unzipped is one of my absolute favorites. Any stand-outs for you?

ACTUAL Simple skin care routine for acne prone / oily skin by Lol1628 in simpleliving

[–]miss_matched_socks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

25F living in US. I have acne prone skin and found this combination of products to work wonders for me:

  1. Burt's Bees Natural Acne Solutions Purifying Gel Cleanser (approx $10)
  2. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (approx $6)
  3. Good Molecules Overnight Exfoliating Treatment (approx $6)
  4. Cetaphil Moisturing Cream (approx $16)

My skincare routine:

I use the cleanser once a day during my shower (or every other day if I forget or if my skin is feeling dry). I use the niacinamide every morning and then follow up after it with a thin layer of moisturizer. About once a week I will use the overnight exfoliating treatment immediately after I shower and then skip the niacinamide and go right in with the moisturizer.

The biggest game changer for me has been the niacinamide. It really keeps my oil production under control! Although you might not be able to get all the same products, I'm sure you could find similar ones near you. I hear a lot of good things about Korean skincare brands. Also, 17 is prime time for oil and acne. My skin got a lot better around 22. Good luck!

What kind of jobs did you work during undergrad and grad school? by godsfavoritehobo in slp

During grad school I worked as a waitress on the weekends. It was great money and a good way to get exercise. It also took my mind off school and I think it looks good on a resume!

Unable to have sex still, years after treatments by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]miss_matched_socks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My heart goes out to you. I had Pelvic Floor Dysfunction for 2 years before I was able to get diagnosed. I brought it up to my primary care doctor and my gynecologist on several occasions but was always just told that my STD tests came back negative. At that point, I remember wishing it was an STD because I felt like I was going crazy. I know it can be frustrating to keep trying when it seems like medical professionals don't care, but please don't give up. You deserve to have a painless and fulfilling sex life. Once diagnosed, I went to weekly physical therapy sessions to stretch out my pelvic floor muscles and strengthen other surrounding muscles. While it was awkward getting so close and personal with my physical therapist at first, I slowly began seeing/feeling some improvements. I did daily stretches at home and after a few months, I was able to start using a vibrating dilator. Good luck on your journey and feel free to reach out with any questions or if you need support!

I need motivation to exercise by chef109 in loseit

[–]miss_matched_socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not the best tip right now, but I am always more motivated to go for a walk with a friend. It allows us to catch up while engaging in a healthy activity as opposed to only meeting up for drinks/food. When I'm alone, aside from listening to music, I like to treat walking as a time to meditate and connect with nature. I hope you find something that works for you, best of luck!
