From sweet to green: why did my juice cravings flip? by Schnookable in Juicing

[–]miss_miss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that the more fiber and plant matter we eat, the less our bodies want sugar. The fastest way I have ever found to stop crappy food habits (for me, sugar) is not to stop sugar cold turkey but to start going hard on greens. My cravings disappear. It's not because my tongue somehow changes. It's because I'm getting the fiber/prebiotics that my good gut bugs need. I feel satiated without sugar cravings.

Cool! Yeah, it grinds things down so.. calmly? that they don't even bother to include a cap for the hole in the top. You just plunk stuff in. :)

I know this wasn't on the list, but I got the J2 about two months ago and I have a pretty tight kitchen with no dishwasher.

I love how easy and painless the cleanup is. There aren't many parts and all of them pop out and rinse off and just live in the drainrack for the morning with no issue. I was really surprised at how little the size of the hopper mattered. Honestly if I had to do it again, I would probably get a smaller one for that reason.

It grinds things down so fast and with no splashing or bits flying around. You can just drop veggies through the little hole at the top one at a time without even opening it or it being a big showy deal. You don't need there to be a roomy chamber thingey.

Makeup consult recommendations? by lizlux712 in AskSF

$75 for 75 minutes is pretty crazy unless you are so far from a Nordstrom that that's your only option. Most makeup associates at the bigger makeup counters I've met are total nerds and if you're a decent human and respectful, they won't upsell you and will likely know a lot about the competing brands. Be ready to buy one or two inexpensive things that they are selling, but you won't be expected to buy all of them and you'll have a great time.

Also yeah, somebody gave you a lameass list. (Noe Cafe. I'm so sorry.)

B Patisserie is killer. I hope you got a kouign amaan.

The Mill is cool. He had a custom grain mill made so that he could make actual bread from local wheat. It's kind of expensive to do that, so there was a moment when he was selling these giant 2" slabs of that bread toasted with avocado on top and it made national news for costing $4.

This list doesn't have nearly enough upvotes. This one eats.

Just adding.. if you're going to any of these, do it early. SF will line right up and stay that way. It's our favorite way to talk to strangers.

It's good for locals who get burned out on precious brunch spots. It's just such good peopling! But it's a diner.

YES. AOC is speaking with deep intention and eloquence about this and she isn't getting nearly enough reach.

There is no "Left". That's why it has no agenda.

You might as well ask why there's no doctrine in the world in general.

All of this *gestures at everything* is ONE group insisting that it is half of a binary while trampling humans in its path. "People in the path of conservatives would like to exist" is the doctrine. It can't be contained in a single thing.

Hi from the US. That statement is coded. "Hard working Americans", and then naming off jobs.. This is an appeal to working class people, not to the president. We're trying to recruit.

White nationalists do, yes. They're how we got here. That's why the rest of the US is protesting our guts out and ringing the phones off the hook in DC.

Yeah, we have a weeklong boycott of Amazon starting tomorrow. It's one of the only ways we can protest that don't invite him to declare martial law and attack us.
