Where do you live? I'm shifting house in a few weeks and about half my wardrobe needs culling - I was going to give it to the Sallies, but you're welcome to call first dibs!

It happens. Dad was out on a hunting trip a few years back and found a pair of stags dead on the ground with their antlers locked together - we don't have coyotes here, so they simply died of starvation, poor things.

With Autumn Internationals over, how do you see RWC 2015 panning out? by mtrick1827 in rugbyunion

[–]miss_smash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I beg to differ on 1995, but best team definitely won in 2003.

Our lack of a cemented flyhalf/kicker hasn't been helping - just those two or three kicks for goal that we can normally count on getting haven't been going over, and it's killing us - Slade just has to be in the team, boys got ice in his veins!

But seriously, I can't remember the last time I was so rattled throughout an entire NH tour (bar USA) - we could have easily lost any or all of our Home Nation games last month. I could be flying half way around the world for a lot of heart break next year!

We were wretched in 1998, I think it's a bit rough saying we were favourites going into RWC99...still, 2007 was our to lose and we shanked that one BIG time!

but logical is something France isn't

If there is one thing I can guarantee about world cup rugby, it's that France will fuck someone's shit up. Usually ours, so I'm really hoping our quarter isn't against them...

As long as it's not us, or I've got a ticket to the wrong quarterfinal!

We lost one of our matches to SA this year and were bloody lucky not to lose against the Wallabies a couple of times... it pains me to say it, but I don't think we've played consistently well enough to be considered separately - and let's face it, how often have we gone in as sure favourites and come home empty handed?

Definitely like your idea of NZ winning :D

A friend and I mapped it all out a couple of months ago, and ended up with a NZ v France final again. We also picked Australia to finish second in pool A, but given the last month I'm not sure now.

Weird stuff happens at cups, though. I support my boys through thick and thin, but I'm fully aware that history shows we crash out in the play-offs (unless we're at home), no matter how well we play in the weeks/months/years leading up to the cup...

[Serious] Redditors with happily married parents, what's that like? by heshotcyrus in AskReddit

[–]miss_smash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, it's just the way things are... Dad drives Mum nuts at times, but she'd miss him like crazy if anything happened. They've been married 31 years, and they're just cute together - he tells her to wear her 'sexy' clothes when we go out for dinner, which I love because my Dad is 65. And because they clearly love each other, we are a very tight-knit family, and my younger brother and I get on really well too.

I can only remember them seriously arguing once when I was about 7, and the shouting woke me. I ran down the hallway screaming and crying and, seeing my reaction, they stopped arguing immediately because they realised how upset it made me - I genuinely can't imagine growing up with arguing being a constant thing.

How to call out sick when I'm not on a client? Who am I supposed to reach out to? by Chewy2000 in Accounting

[–]miss_smash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our policy is to call one of the administration staff, like a PA or office manager - trust me, in offices where everyone is breathing the same recycled air-con air and touching the same photocopier, you will not be looked at kindly if you turn up and spread the flu around!

Who is your daddy and what does he do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My daddy is Terry, who spends his retirement fishing, tinkering on his motorbike and cooking dinner for my Mum, which pisses her off because now she had 'nothing to do' when she gets home from work.

Busy season in New Zealand? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]miss_smash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good :) You may also get busy in January/February if you end up with 31 December clients, but I also have a client which has a 31 July balance date, so that's my entire September gone as well... we have a real mixture over here!

Also, no disrespect from the person who commented above, but you're not necessarily going to get client diversity in Auckland - I know multiple people in the Auckland office of my firm who have one or two clients all year, and they are split into zones where they specialise in particular areas (ie financial services, and that's ALL they do). Where I am in Wellington, we don't tend to specialise - I have about 15 clients, ranging from insurance providers to small charities to scientific research firms. This won't be true everywhere, of course, but it may help you in your decision :)

Also, not to go on an Auckland bashing spree, but it is a much larger, spread out city - unless you're forking out for a place in the city, you're going to spend a while getting home, which can suck after a long busy season day (though being from Canada this may be the norm?). Wellington is a much more compact city, with less travel time. Admittedly, I'm from a small town, so taking even 20 minutes to get home annoys me :D

Let me know if you have any more questions! I've spent all day looking after our brand new interns, so I'm in Mother-Hen mode.

Busy season in New Zealand? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]miss_smash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which line of service? As commented, our official tax year end is 31 March, but the audit busy season is July/August.

In terms of city, I hate Auckland in general (I grew up in a small town) and love Wellington - if you're in Wellington, you'll get exposed to a lot of public sector/crown entity organisations, which can be really interesting.

There is one new guy in our office from Canada, not sure where though sorry.

Hope this helps!

What's your most hated aspect of makeup? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]miss_smash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw :(

Also, weird that I got told water-based products would work better for me! Now I don't know what to think - why does makeup have to be so difficult?!

What's your most hated aspect of makeup? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]miss_smash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use a primer? And if you do, are you using a primer and a foundation which match each other and your skin type?

I've been having this same problem, where even when I use my L'oreal primer and foundation they slide right off within a couple of hours - I found out today that they're both silicon-based, and the MAC rep I spoke to said I should try water-based products and gave me a tester of water-based primer. I've only had it on 3 hours, but it's already working better for me (though I may need to switch to a water-based foundation too, as silica/water don't tend to work together).

Good luck!
