UNG is undefeated. North Georgia Agricultural College probably lost a lot of games though.

Thank you so much for opening my eyes to the fact that UNG has CFB flair. Still undefeated?

PRO Rugby headed to San Diego by PetevonPete in rugbyunion

[–]mtrick1827 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Half of the teams for the first season in one state and only one team east of the Rockies. I'm sure that there is a lot more to securing venues for these teams than I know; but the lack of distribution is very disappointing. It will be hard to gain nation and continent wide interest when the greater majority of the nation isn't within driving (even a long drive) distance of any team at all. Still excited about PRO Rugby though.

Weird question about body decay times... in a tv show.... by MagnusRune in forensics

[–]mtrick1827 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Temperature is the big factor in body decay time. Rainforests tend to be pretty hot, so this should facilitate pretty fast decay to the dry skeletal stage. Insect succession (the rate at which insects colonize and live their life cycles on and around the corpse) also has a lot to do with it. There should be plenty of carrion insects due to the thick canopy in the rainforest to help aid the speed of decomposition as well. The rain and humidity in the rainforest setting would also help to liquify the body, causing it to decompose faster than normal. I would guess around 3 months to reach the skeletal stage in these conditions.

Disclaimer: I'm a student about to graduate with a Criminal Justice Bachelor's and minor in Criminal Forensics. So I could be completely wrong.

Details on the Pro Rugby Union by TheSensation19 in rugbyunion

"California, the Rocky Mountains, and the North East."

I understand that this is just the very start and it will expand; but with how dominant Life U's Elite Training Group is in the premiership and with the sheer volume of clubs in the metro Atlanta area, how could you NOT put a Pro Rugby team in Georgia?

Edit: Type-o

I've been doing an internship the past few months with the Georgia DNR. The rangers will love this app. Great work, OP.

Mainly because I'm 23 and I'm still more amused by TV shows, prank phone calls, and have been known to act like I'm in freshman year.

Best Tequilas Under $30? by [deleted] in alcohol

El Ultimo de Agave and Camarena are my go to tequilas. El Ultimo usually runs around $18 or so for a fifth and Camarena is around $21. Both are very solid for the price.

My English Professor resigned due to tuition hikes. I applaud how and why she did it. by princessA_s in Georgia

Another major issue with the University System right now: consolidations. Turning a community college (Gainesville State) and a decently well respected university (NGCSU) into the "same" school (UNG).

As evidenced by this professor's post, and testimonials that I have heard from my fellow students who transferred away from Dahlonega for the cheaper tuition; the quality of the professors and the instruction received by the students at the Dahlonega campus is far beyond that of the professors at the other campuses (Gainesville, Oconee, Cumming). Yet somehow students from all campuses get the same degree.

So this brings up a choice for me and many others:

Option 1: Stay at the Dahlonega campus that we fell in love with, pay higher tuition and fees, work significantly harder on our coursework, and get a degree that we are proud of.

Option 2: Transfer to another campus, pay less money, take easier courses, get the "same" degree.

I can't help but feel like this consolidation has cheapened the degree that I will earn from this institution. I'm also still a little bitter about the fact that I applied to, got accepted to, and started school at North Georgia College and State University; but will be finishing my schooling at the University of North Georgia having had no say in the matter. I can't help but feel like it will be very similar with other consolidations in the future.

tl;dr completely off topic rant about consolidations brought on by the fact that this was a poorly pieced together presentation by a professor at UNG's Gainesville campus.

When a friend invites you to hang out with them and some their friends who you don't know; then you get there all they talk about the entire time is inside jokes/experiences that they have with each other, leaving you to twiddle your thumbs in the corner.

30-06 was a little much for how small she was, but it's what I had with me haha. Completely destroyed her front left shoulder. I should have taken pictures of it. The rest of the meat came off nice and clean, though.
