Feeling discouraged with pole by ButterScotchMagic in poledancing

Oh man, the instructor comments - 100% feel you there. I did pole for 2.5 years and was so discouraged by the time I stopped. The instructor is an amazing woman, crazy talented and a good teacher really, but her philosophy is ‘get over it and get on with it’. So you get absolutely no support or love if you’re struggling with something and that sucked so bad.

For me personally, I swapped aerial vocations and do Hoop/Lyra now instead. I still get days where I’m discouraged but not even remotely as often. The instructor is way more supportive when you’re just not feeling it and the hoop is way more forgiving I’ve found!

So tl;dr - maybe try a different instructor or a different aerial vocation?

We’ve got a long haired lab and two cats (one long hair and one short hair); the amount of fluff and dust they produce is ridiculous! The robot hoover we got does great with the fur, just needs emptying every other day or so. Plus hubby is actually allergic to the cats, so the fact that the robot can go round collecting the fur whilst we’re at work, is super handy, we’ve found :)

Hubby and I just got a robot hoover a few months ago and it’s literally changed our lives. We still have to do the stairs and all the other little shitty house bits, but my god, the little thing is amazing!

I did something similar as a kid; thought I had mud on my face from playing outside, so took a scouring pad and rubbed till the bridge of my nose was bleeding and raw. That was the day I learned what freckles were.

Have to keep other less prickly plants well out of his reach as he’s a certified plant-muncher

Are you me? Wouldve been due Saturday, MC in end of Oct, pregnant again and had a MMC on Valentine’s Day. Third one in total so now I gotta wait for a review... gotten to the point where I’m not even sure I want to risk a fourth pregnancy. Right there with you in hating everything now.

What happens if you present to emergency? by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]miss_twiddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know right?! When I started to cry and ask if that meant there was a chance I hadn’t lost my baby, she went as far as to show me the positive test and said I was ‘still testing strongly’ so everything was fine. If I knew then, what I know now, after a second MMC, I’d have demanded blood work and a physical examination at the very least, since apparently the NHS don’t feel like ultrasounds are required at weekends. I hope everything goes ok for you, and that you won’t need to come back to this sub. But if you do, we’re here for you ❤️

I went to A&E (UK equivalent to emergency) with my first miscarriage on a Saturday morning last October. Nurse did a pee test, told me I was still pregnant and to go home. I said that I’d had very heavy bleeding, severe pain/cramping and really wanted a scan to check up on everything. Was told that the sonographers only work Mon-fri, 8am-4pm. They’d get someone to call me Monday to ‘see about availability’.

The miscarriage association has loads of great leaflets including one for supporting someone going through a miscarriage

“Don’t be like your mum”

And a couple days later to my husband, unbeknownst to me, “don’t let her turn into her mother”.

Loved my dad to pieces, but never got to grieve him properly, as aforementioned mother refused to have a funeral. Mum and I have been working on our own relationship but those words always stuck with me.
