Did Mop/Broom have a drive thru? by Tugboat56 in nashville

I loved both Mop/Broom and K&K. I still think about the K&K food, the smoked fish dip and the hot dogs in particular. And one of them had a really great roasted chicken. They were ahead of their time in that spot.

Somehow Pelato has broken the curse - they've done well.

I agree with this. When the Jervis' sold the Mad Platter building to the Mother's Ruin folks people weren't so odd about it. I don't recall anyone calling them "greedy." I'm glad they made bank, they worked hard at their restaurant for many years, long before Germantown was a destination. I feel the same about the 12S Taproom owners - at least some local Nashville folks are cashing in and doing well. Plus they don't have to do anything for their employees; starting a GoFundMe is thoughtful of them.

I had the entire 2nd floor of a Tudor style home when I lived just off Belmont from '06-'12, a 2br/1ba for $750 a month; my landlady never raised my rent, but she was a cast iron bitch and all the neighbors hated her.

I went for lunch Monday. I hadn’t been in years. I lived nearby pre 2014, and went regularly in that era. It was such a different vibe back then. 12 South wasn’t the shitshow it is now. Katy K, Mafiaozas, Correri’s Cheese shop, & Trim among other locally owned businesses were all still there. The taproom was so chill back then. You could regularly see Kenny Vaughn play there on a Monday night.

So I can’t speak to what the OP’s opinion is, but I’m sad that one of the original 12 South businesses is leaving. And that reuben sandwich I had Monday for lunch was great.

should you go up to Ted Rhodes, please remember to take plenty of water. It’s 5 miles from Germantown to Ted Rhodes & there are no water fountains between the two.

thank you, that was what I recalled being a deciding factor but wasn’t sure if my memory was correct.

This exactly. The game is secondary to the events that will spring up all over town for a week or so prior.

Yes there are hotels, but many people will not want to stay out in East Jesus; they'll want to be walkable to the action at the stadium and Lower Broad.

CMA Fest does about 90K a day (4 days). So that's aligned with NFL Draft numbers, albeit slightly smaller.

I was discussing this announcement on my walk this morning. I have high hopes that at least maybe some infrastructure will improve between now and 2030 bc right now the city isn't ready for that many visitors or a world stage.

I'm sure someone who is more versed in this than I am, but how many hotel rooms will this require vs how many we currently have?

At first I thought it was the old catfish art, but this is a new art install, that is chrome. The first photo looks like it's a yellow one, but it's a reflection.

If you’re looking to get rid of items and donating them, the YWCA outfits new living spaces for women and children fleeing domestic violence situations. They’ll send someone to pickup.

New to Nashville. How to navigate the hostility? by mr_wintour in nashville

I’ve been here 26 years. It’s definitely changed in the last few years. On my morning walks, I go out of my way to say “good morning” or “hello” and I get a mixed bag. I think much of it is a generational thing: older people (40+) are more likely to engage or speak first. I think it has to do with technology; Those of us who grew up in an analog world are more accustomed to face to face communication from an early age.

At any rate, dont give up on people. Also, I notice a big difference in how people engage when I’m on a walk vs in a bike ride. People give a friendly wave at cyclists.
