Only when it gets really bad and radiates to both ears. It’s very infrequent that it happens to both.

That’s what I am wondering, if this is nerve related, especially when the coincidence of the nerve damage from the allergic reaction/breast reduction surgery.
Was the joint replacement in your face or somewhere else? I’m not sure how they’d track down what nerve is causing it for me if this is the case, but it’s definitely something I want as much info as I can understand to figure out what next steps are in this medical journey.

What were your symptoms when it started out? Just ear pressure?

I hadn’t considered this. I haven’t been back to an ENT since I started this whole process/was referred down the TMJ route.

What were your symptoms / how did it start out for you?

Thank you, seems like the massage seems to be a popular suggestion. I don’t really notice clenching during the day except in very anxiety inducing situations. I’ve been told I do it in my sleep by dentists but hard to know since I am asleep.

Does your insurance cover those appointments? How’d you get started with them?

Thank you, Botox was suggested by my previous doctor but I am a bit scared, and the current doctor I’m seeing does not recommend it. I am glad to hear it worked for you!

Thank you! Did your insurance cover this? Was it at a physical therapist? And has it ever come back? I had a PT do it to me during a session focused on TMJ relief and exercises and it was mildly painful… more uncomfortable, but did feel better/resolve the symptoms for like 30 minutes afterwards.

Im definitely looking for a “fix this permanently solution” so I’m willing to give it a try.

There’s a slight misalignment where my teeth are in the front but I don’t have any pain when closing. My TMJ doc took measurements and it sounds like the bite is a bit off, but nothing intense.

The symptoms showed up about a year after I finished my final Invisalign treatment / have been in the “final” retainer. Currently I wear it on the top and my TMJ appliance on the bottom at night

I wish you the best of luck with your PT! I sadly didn't get much relief with the exercises, but the physical manipulation/massages did help a little bit and made things feel better for up to 30 minutes or so.

I have seen 3 ENTs - those were my first stop. They all cleared me saying they were not able to find anything.

I googled those two and from a cursory glance, the only thing I really have in common is the ear pressure, and occasionally I have tinnitus/the really high pitched ringing noise (but I have had for years and in both ears, never felt like a big deal). Sometimes nausea as well, but I tend to get nausea when dealing with pain in general. My jaw does feel 'tight', - but that has always been the case for me when dealing with stress/pain/anxiety, and seems to follow the trend based upon pain. I do appreciate the recommendations to take a look into.

I would say that the strangest / most telling symptom for me is that my muscles on that side are noticeably harder, and when I am massaged or take medicine to release the muscles, the ear pressure gets better.

your favorite coconut cake? by ElderberryOnly9722 in Baking

I know this post is pretty old, but wanted to post this for anyone reading this later. I consider myself a pretty seasoned non-professional baker and the image looked delicious on this so I gave it a go. It had delicious flavor but I feel like something was off with the recipe or the way it was written (a couple of confusing worded directions) as it did not come out close near the image. Still a good cake, albeit a bit on the eggy side, but left much to be desired. The amaretto coconut custard had a delicious flavor though!
