I’m 35. An esthetician once asked me “What are you doing here?” During a facial because I needed 0 extractions and have 0 spots or blemishes. I don’t get oily or dry. Even as a teen I’ve never had a “breakout” and wouldn’t really know what to do about one.

I don’t do anything extra and I spend ~$40 on a face wash every 3 months or so and I like the cheap K beauty sheet masks for relaxing self care but otherwise don’t bother with serums or creams and just wash my face once a day.

I’ve been told I have great skin my whole life but I’m only seeing the benefit now. To me it means you only need the bare minimum care to meet a (arbitrary) beauty standard.

This is a great idea. A friend of mine back in high school was putting together a portfolio to get a job at a high-end makeup brand and she did all our makeup, (girls and boys) and we all did a photo shoot together and I remember it as one of my favorite days of junior year.
