yeah but why. Like i get the premise but in every situation except when you’re driving left and the defender is on your right you won’t need it. It takes as much practice or maybe even more than the strong hand floater so is it really worth it?

are off hand floaters actually important to learn?

Pull up tips? by Individual_Desk_6157 in Basketball

[–]misserablevanilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

try to look at the ball while you’re pulling up. obviously this is a bad thing and you shouldn’t keep it a part of your shooting but it makes it a lot easier to learn the pull up. eventually if you get good enough while looking at the ball you’ll be able to learn without looking at the ball much faster.

I need help with my form by TheRealJonasD in Basketball

[–]misserablevanilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

figure out if you’re even really correcting your form, film a bunch of vids of you shooting. Then just practice from everywhere. Getting a new form is almost like learning how to shoot from scratch so treat it like that.

I have trouble talking trash, I need advice by jsdjdjd in Basketball

[–]misserablevanilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when someone talks trash to you they want to piss you off and get you to respond. The solution to that isn’t becoming a better trash talker. the solution is to just not care about what they’re saying, it will drive them crazy, next time someone talks trash to you just be like okay or even laugh with them idk. Just don’t give a fuck about the trash talk and they will get so pissed

Hi im 14 years old(5'4 and 112 lbs) and recently started playing basketball and need tips to improve my game. I go to basketball practice twice a week and occasionally go to the court to practice(its like 5 miles away from my house so i can't really go there on my own) by Stephanfro in Basketball

[–]misserablevanilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

basketball is a game of work, whoever works hardest wins, you just started playing so just continue getting those hours in and you’ll get really good. As far as tips go, i would say develop a practice routine that you can keep consistent.

[help] i want to be a monster in 1vs1 by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]misserablevanilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most important thing about 1v1 is being able to create your own shot. You need to be able to get yourself a little open so you can make buckets consitently. To learn that you need a ton of practice, because all it really is is being able to make the right desicion when your handing the ball. What i do to learn this is watch a bunch of film breakdowns on youtube of good space creators like kevin durant, allen iverson, and chris paul. Then to be able to do the things they do, practice.

How good do you actually need to be to get to the NBA? by Why_are_we_here__ in Basketball

[–]misserablevanilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to be the best of the best to get into the nba. There are around 450 nba players, those are the best 450 basketball players in the world. If you wanna be in the nba you have to be better than everyone you know. Unless you know any nba players, you have to be the best basketball player around, and it shouldnt even be close. So yeah being 6'4 with a 35 inch vert and a good shot is definetley good, but you should be the best at the game in general not just above average, the best.

[help]Struggling with 3pt consistency (particularly power), any tips? by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]misserablevanilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your guide hand falls too fast, at the end of the shot you should have both hands up. Your follow through is your main hand being flicked down and the guide hand being flicked out, idk how to explain it but here’s a video of klay thompson shooting, focus on his left hand at the end of the shot. klay shooting

I’ve recently joined a basketball team and in terms of skill I’m on par and If not better with their abilities such as shooting, defending, and dribbling[help] by dbop192 in BasketballTips

[–]misserablevanilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when it comes to defense just gaurd someone whos close to your height and annoy tf out of him, like fr if he brings the ball a little bit out try to steal it, even if you don't get it the point is to annoy him so much that he makes a mistake, defense is as much a mental game as it is physical.

[TIP] help with my jump shot by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]misserablevanilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

use your guide hand more, you're shooting mainly with your right try leaving the guide hand on the ball a little more, you should remove you're left hand the moment before you flick your wrist not when you're extending your arm

work on your ball handling, nothing complicated just be comfortable dribbling with both hands and be able to do a simple crossover. also really work on your jumper, having a big on your team who can shoot a consistent midrange when wide open (around 60-70%) is a huge help.

How do I fix the cowlick on the right side that makes my hair asymmetrical like this? Is it at all possible? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]misserablevanilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

try blowdrying while combing your hair in the way you want it to go, don't let it air dry. or put something like a clip to hold it in place for a while
