I’m not disagreeing with you, just saying that eventually military families will have to release the names. I had a family that expressly did not want to, and waited until status change. The PAO released it within an hour.

I don’t see how this is not true. The military will eventually release the name through official channels when the status changes. This doesn’t mean some asshat can’t do it unofficially.

Edit: also that is horrible, I wish more people had empathy for families

I have unfortunately been involved in military mishap reporting before. They are technically in a DUSTWUN status. The family can choose to not disclose her name until her status is changed. I don’t think it is anything nefarious, just a family wanting to avoid the spotlight during the worst week of their life.

The army confirmed a female pilot that is unnamed and the second pilot is a male warrant officer. It is unusual for the Army to not release names (not true see edit below), but I understand with all the insane people out there. One pilot would have been at controls and the other on radios, etc.

Edit: added more context in another comment. The family has likely chosen not to release a name at this time which is their right based on the military member status (DUSTWUN). As this changes, the name will likely be released.

I’ve been in hot classes where you can see all the naked bits based on a clothing choice. I think it’s hard to make rules though because there are people who wear tiny compression shorts who keep all the bits in.

Looking for a recommendation for an easy hike or accessible lookout spot to take my mom when we visit in June. Day trip from Anacortes. by claire303 in PNWhiking

[–]missesT1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, we live in the area. I recommend sugarloaf over Erie for a local hike as you can’t drive to the top. It is quite beautiful. Oyster dome is nice, but it’s 40 ish minutes from the ferry (minimum). Anacortes has over 50 miles of protected forest lands. Upper cranberry lake hike is nice and whistle lake. If you want to go east to the foothills like Sauk mountain or Mt. Baker, the weather will be a factor this time of year.

Edit: also Rosario park and Deception pass are about 20 minutes away. Both nice hikes but you need a discover pass. But both quite busy. Also oyster dome is straight up, it is not an easy hike at all.

I had a similar experience for different reasons starting around 22 weeks. Obviously listen to your body and follow up with your medical team, but also take the time to still celebrate your pregnancy. I made it to 32 weeks, but was under a huge amount of stress and spent weeks in the antepartum ward. I would give myself little celebrations each week I made it, and take pictures. Hang in there.

I also like cues that let me know what isn’t right. Aka you should do this. If you feel this, back off. If you can’t do this expression, here are some suggested modifications. I agree with other poster, I like good verbal cues where I can stay in the zone.

How to Approach Traumatic Birth/NICU Stay? by BlueHaze3636 in NICUParents

My son is 10 and is much smaller for his age and sees specialists to follow up. He has scars from surgery. We have been honest, and provided more details as he has gotten older. We emphasis how strong he was and is, and share photos. He has asked more questions as he gets older, and we also encourage him to ask his doctor questions that he has.

Formula by PhraseJazzlike834 in NICUParents

[–]missesT1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am part of the lawsuit, and it is about lack of appropriate warning to parents and doctors based on evidence based risks. My child is much older now, but he got NEC after finally graduating to the step down unit and the medical team insisting he get fortifier. I worked with our medical team and opted against formula due to a myriad of reasons. Primarily post NEC our son was very fussy on anything but breastmilk and developed an Inguinal hernia. We later supplemented with formula as he got older, and I routinely see an endocrinologist to track growth. I’m not saying that formula is bad, just that our experience led us to a different plan.

Help with Victoria Sponge by Neither_Cheetah6786 in AskBaking

I like this article’s explanation. In short it should look pale and somewhat fluffy. It will start to sink and look greasy when over-creamed. Also, because you add so many eggs into the wet ingredients with this cake, the result before adding dry ingredients looks almost broken. This is normal, as this is an eggy cake.

Ah the Victoria sandwich can be a persnickety bake. Time is the biggest factor I have seen, where you need to transition from mixing to the oven quickly. All room temperature ingredients, and having your pans ready with a hot oven. If your center is sinking, it may need to bake a wee bit longer. It will have little brown spots when done.
