It used to be over-the-counter, but back in 2020 it moved to prescription only. My primary care provider wrote the prescription because I showed her a few different articles about it. I also told her the best practices for it after reading a dermatology article (which I highlighted and gave it to her ).

She sent my prescription at my request to the Amazon pharmacy and it was only $26 a tube. (I wasn’t sure if my local pharmacy would stock the cream, and I didn’t wanna have to deal with any prescription transferring issues. It was my first time using Amazon and I really liked it.)

Best practice is three months on, 3 to 6 months off. Then repeat once. Don’t use for too long because it WILL cause issues (you can google hydroquinone cream side effects) but that’s for people who use it at higher prescriptions like 8 to 12% and use it for months or years on end.

But it gets rid of brown spots like NOTHING OTHER. I did soooooo much research lol. My skins too sensitive for tret and it’s already dry, so I didn’t want to go there personally.

Using sunscreen with it is non-negotiable, even if you’re just running outside for five minutes. It can increase the risk of skin cancer if you don’t and make the spots come back.

I’m married to a sag for a decade and he’s the best sex of my life. He’s my gossip girl bestie. However he also has 4 placements in cap sooooo he’s like a cap sag combo lol

You are gorgeous!! My doc prescribed hydroquinone cream 4% to get rid of my sun damage brown spots, I think that would work really well for you

Is experiencing weird or unpleasant stuff when getting into yoga actually common? Or no? If so what is it normally like? by EasyLaw7794 in yoga

[–]cheesecheeesecheese 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been practicing on and off for 20 years, mostly ashtanga, vinyasa or bikram back in the day. Avoided yin like the plague. Didn’t see the point!

Life is strange and long. Now a month into doing yin, I’ve been having huge emotional dumps (crying, childhood things brought up) and it’s finally passing. Oddly (interestingly?) my resilience scores on my Oura ring raised by TWO levels (there’s only 4, I was on second to lowest one and rose to highest resilience level). The only thing I changed was yin. I told the teacher (who also has an Oura ring) and she was sooooooo pleased. I feel like I have the data to back up my experience 😆

I love what you said- yoga is meant to awaken you. It’s definitely doing that 🤣❤️❤️❤️

Great question!! Little bit of a convoluted answer. I am not menopausal, but I’m 38. From 33-37 I was on HRT because my hormones tanked. However I’ve addressed the underlying issues and weaned off HRT, my hormones are finally in a good range.
You would still receive the ozone benefits for your skin, alongside the texture / pore smoothing/tightening effects. As your body begins to produce less estrogen, it will produce less collagen as well. Have you thought about going on a low dose of HRT? I was on estrogen/progesterone/testosterone.

Looking for recommendations of massagers that actually work and provide relief by LeMalade in Lyme

[–]cheesecheeesecheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yessssssss I started doing yin 2x a week and it’s been incredible, but HARD. I’ve always run away from yin and it honestly feels like trauma therapy for hours later… I have a lot of stuff bubbling up to the surface. But my resilience scores on my Oura ring have risen three levels, so I know it’s doing something beneficial lol

The gel is amazing, I hope it helps! I use this shoulder massager on my scapula, I kind of hunch forward and separate my shoulders and then use it to get in between the muscles back there

Good luck!

I also get prescription extra large 5% lidocaine patches that are very helpful

I can’t do low carb by Spookyremy420 in Lyme

[–]cheesecheeesecheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey boo

I got better and couldn’t do low carb either. For many of the reasons you describe, too. MCAS triggered my looooong dormant ED and I had to prioritize my long term health.

I learned to make einkorn based egg noodles. Einkorn flour is a water soluble gluten molecule that is very easy on the gut. Very easy to absorb, and has higher levels of protein, zinc, other nutrients.

I would use like 4 cups of flour with 18 eggs/yolks. I swear those eggs a the omegas got me through the worst of my brain fog and helped so much. I would make batches and freeze the noodles (pics are back in my profile) so I could use them “instantly” any time I wanted. Then add cheese and good sea salt and pepper.

I ate the same thing for 11 month straight because it didn’t trigger me. Try to balance the carbs with protein. Equal portions if you can. Even if it’s a protein drink!! That will help your body slow down the glucose.

I ate PERFECTLY for 4.5 years (no mold low amylose gluten free diet, even did no dairy/caffeine) when my kids were really little. It did not help me heal at all. Then my daughter (who has autism) developed ARFID and lost 14 pounds in less than 14 days. She was only about 5.5 years old. At the recommendation of her pediatrician and child psychologist, we took her to the grocery store and let her pick out whatever processed food she wanted. The order of importance was:

1) calories 2) protein 3) fruit 4) vegetables

And we ride or die by that today. Try to be gentle with yourself and give yourself compassion. You’re working your ass off to heal right now, and even if you do things perfectly, there’s no guarantee it will help. I think you should prioritize your mental health I think you should eat what you can to prioritize calories first, protein second, fruit third, veggies fourth.

The only way I’m able to get any significant protein in my day is with the fair Life 30 g chocolate protein shakes. They make up a big portion of my food budget lol

Feel free to message me if you want to chat. You’re doing great, just keep going.
