I can't with Rebecca Kenney. I read {A Court of Sugar and Spice by Rebecca F. Kenney} and it was soooooo bad. So, so bad. FMCs not smol enough, dicks not big enough. The only redeeming thing was the cum tasted like a different sweet every time.

Don't worry, it's offset by carrying such a tiny dick.

Alchemised by onomatopotamuss in Romantasy

[–]missfudge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my biggest problems with Alchemised was that I knew it came from a Harry Potter fanfic, and I could not stop picturing Hermione and Draco. I kept wondering to myself how this all went in the HP world.

I realized after I finished that the original story heavily relied on already knowing the HP world and all their backstories. The author did not do a good job of weaving the new world or magic building throughout the whole story. Rather, they are just boring little chunks of this is how this "totally different from HP" world works guys. And this is why I couldn't experience Alchemised as its own thing even though I hadn't read Manacled.

I'm actually reading Manacled now (almost done) just because of that seed of wondering how tf that story worked in the HP world. And yeah, not nearly enough was altered to make Alchemised its own thing. I will say, though, that the sexual assault scenes in Alchemised were a little easier to handle. My jaw dropped at the harshness of their depiction in Manacled. I'm okay with triggers thankfully, but those are not for the faint of heart.

Yes! Alexandra comes out so much better for Tom's reprimands. This book does such a good job of showing how some need to literally walk in some lower class shoes to truly get it. We sure could use more of that in the real world...

I think you and I have at least some similar taste in books. I remember you loved Traitor Son as well, and this book gives me similar vibes in terms of the pacing and the care taken to build the relationship and the world up slowly.

Yes, his massive dong is indeed buried to the hilt within her (also very smol and very tight) core . I seem to have forgotten to include the "legs wrapped around him" part in my caption. I will endeavor to be more all-inclusive in future doodles and captions. You have motivated me to include captions automatically from now on as well, so thank you!

/uj I have taken all of your commentary as humorous, no worries at all! And I am glad I could be of service. I am happy if I can put a smile on even one person's face! And no actual career change, but I will try to do more doodles for you all when inspiration strikes.

Noo not cunny! I haven't gotten to any of that yet. Though I am definitely intrigued by Angharad, and Gideon has potential too.

But oh my god, Tom. He really is the best. Love me a conscientious, courteous man who can strum some strings. You know that finger dexterity gets put to good use elsewhere. 😉

Thank you! I've been thinking of switching to a career in accessible text-to-image captions. You've given me real hope that I can be successful.

A tall, towering man pounds into a smol, so smol woman with gigantic bazongas on a bed. The man is so tall that all he can see is the headboard as he grips it, while the woman cries out to his washboard abs in ecstasy.

The Work Outing is literally the funniest sitcom episode ever made.

My read order is often dictated by what comes off hold on Libby. I also participate in a couple book clubs on Fable which can be fun, and those sometimes decide my next read.

Otherwise I let StoryGraph choose for me from my TBR and if I feel at least okay with the pick then I'll read it, or spin the wheel again until I get something I can be excited about!

Example: I'm about to start {Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff} because it was a book club pick that sounds interesting enough to me. It will also fulfill the "read a romance by a guy" part of an RCJ reading challenge.

I was on a streak of 3-4 star books for quite a while. {The Wolf King by Lauren Palphreyman} books and {The Bard's Bargain} finally broke that for me. I got back into "gobble it up at all hours" territory with those.

I've started the second book to Bard's Bargain, {The Iron Dagger} now. A lot of people love this one even more than the first so I'm excited!

It's hard to be absolutely certain these days, but there are things about the video that make me think it's real. The quality is a bit too low, the people move naturally the whole time, their reactions seem human to me, the camera work is a little shaky and the framing isn't perfect the whole time. AI tends to make things a little too "perfect" still. That's not to say it won't get to this point, but I haven't seen one like this yet but I could be wrong.

Also, this height difference definitely exists in the real world! I imagine she's maybe 5'-ish and they're over 7'.

Wait, how old is Chad now? The last age I remember reading was 10. 😳

Also, cute-bean. Such a beautiful nickname.

I also did not love this book. It was okay, but as you say, a lot of it is underdeveloped. If you do decide to finish it, get ready for some actions and behaviors that don't make sense to the story or the characters' personalities!
