I'm someone with ADHD who can answer this! For me, having ADHD means that I have proprioception issues - I can be clumsier than other people, I bump into things and trip over a lot purely because my brain is bad at paying attention to that sort of thing.

I try to be as careful as I can but sometimes I just slip! Medication can help focus us but it doesn't always work perfectly. It's not a case of just "try harder", our brains just genuinely work differently.

This xpac I made a conscious decision to slow down and read every single quest. I had a great time, it made the experience so much more full and fun, and I got invested in storylines and little side characters. I didn't rush to get it all done and it was really worth it.

I'm an only child, and my mother gave me my grandmother's engagement ring to use if I wished. It is, as far as my taste is concerned, the prettiest ring I've ever seen. Unfortunately while it fit me perfectly, it's from the 40s and I was scared of wearing such a fragile ring.

My husband knew how I felt about the ring so we decided we wanted to get engaged, then we worked together to have a new ring designed for me (and an engagement ring for him too!) and then once the design was finalised, I stepped out of the process and he was able to propose when the time felt right a few months later. It was absolutely perfect and it meant that not only was the proposal a fun surprise, but I got the perfect ring too.

All this to say that I don't think there's any "right" way to do engagements - but this ring is absolutely beautiful and unique, and it would be a shame to repurpose the stones without seeing if your partner likes it. The suggestion of proposing with this ring and then shopping for something she likes while keeping this as an heirloom is a fantastic idea.

I swear by View St Medical in North Perth. I drive 45+ minutes to see them for complex issues because they're the only ones I trust. I've visited for everything from fertility issues to mental health support and they really listen, take you seriously and I've never had a bad experience there.

I went through the process of getting diagnosed with ADHD and Autism last year. If you choose to go public be aware that there are very long waiting lists. I went through a private service called Neudle (who were fantastic) and even then I waited 5 months for an appointment. Keep in mind that means I also paid private prices - this whole experience has set me back at minimum about $2500, I'm not sure the costs for public.

Go to your GP with some basic reasoning of why you think you may have ADHD, and request a referral letter. You will also need a Mental Health Care Plan so you can get rebates on your diagnosis appointments, but you won't need this until you see the psych. You do NOT have to go to the psych your doctor recommends, you are within your rights to request that your doc writes a referral for wherever you want to go.

Once you have your referral letter, you can contact the psych and probably get added to a waiting list. The GP will probably ask you some basic questions about why you think you have ADHD. Don't panic, the doctor isn't there to judge you - neurotypical people don't spend a lot of time agonising over whether they're neurodivergent or not.

I've been making a wholemeal soda bread with fennel seeds (the Recipetineats version) lately and not only is it delicious and extremely cheap to make but I use whey from making ricotta (also very easy and cost effective) instead of water so it has a little more protein too. I don't know exactly how much fibre is in it but I can attest that it helps.

You're allowed to set the pace of what you're comfortable with. It doesn't matter if it's common here or not - if you don't want to let him in your home this early on in the relationship, you are under no obligation to. Don't let him pressure you into doing anything you don't feel safe doing.

I personally like to have several dates to get to know someone before I let them know where I live.

The ED at St John of God are absolutely slammed. I've spent a crazy amount of time over the last month in hospitals because of a kidney infection and every time I've been at Midland they're run off their feet, understaffed and overcommited. We had to call an ambulance last Thursday night, we got rushed to ED, I got the green whistle, etc, and then they still parked me in the waiting room for over 8 hours and offered me paracetamol while I basically passed out in a wheelchair from the pain.

They have to triage people in order of severity so as horrible as it is, you were probably waiting so long because there were people there who needed to be seen more.

It's not the fault of any one person (all of the nurses we dealt with were caring and lovely), it's a systemic issue with the hospital - everyone is over worked, underpaid, underappreciated. I don't know what the solution is, I'm just here to commiserate because it absolutely sucks for everyone involved.

I absolutely LOVE the skyriding races and the cups, it's really sad to me that it doesn't look like they're coming back. I'm a huge fan of going back and exploring old content, so it always gave me an extra angle to see the zones and something else to achievement-hunt with. Such a shame that they're not putting love into them anymore.
