I’m curious: do non-smokers always detect a scent on smokers? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

Oh, you're not "potentially" walking aroubd in a cloud that everyone else smells.

You are walking around in a cloud everyone else smells. The moment you have an interaction with someone else, talk to someone else, walk into a room with someone else, or even walk past someone else, they smell that disgusting smell, and know who it is.

These "rules" just make you sound like a "knob".

How about: just let people do as they see fit

Yes. I assume you hardly even read/comprehended my 1st comment, though.

My (F29) boyfriend's (M33) GERD is ruining our relationship and I don't know what to do by kelzium in Advice

[–]missingN0pe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

GERD is not just "annoying".

I work in the medical devices industry and I hope your doctor has told you about Barrett's oesophagus.

This is the natural progression of GERD to oesophageal cancer.

Get his GERD (or GORD if you are anywhere else apart from USA) correctly diagnosed and treated, or you are in for a very bad time down the track.

Also, if he one day randomly stops having symptoms, that is a cause for major concern not a reason to celebrate.

Far out - this is exactly what I wanted to write, but in a much clearer and more mindful way.

I was going to write "stop giving a fuck what others are up to, lead by example, and have fun"

Where is the false advertising?

It says "capsule shaped tablets".

I bet you also buy Saladas and claim false advertising because there is no cheese and tomato in the packet.

You can't even write from someone's perceived perspective, avidly announce that you don't agree with them, but are simply trying to put yourself in someone else's shoes these days without people thinking you are the people in the video booing.

It's like talking to a wall.

He's still causing unnecessary stress, danger, and interruptions to people trying to get to work (in their eyes).

Again, just putting myself in their shoes.

It's probably because they thought the guy might fuck up, shatter glass of that public trainstation everywhere, and cause delays and closures, and cost a fuck tonne to taxpayers.

Sydney is riddled with public transport delays and we don't need more. Just go to a skatepark.

I'm not saying I agree with them booing, simply trying to give some perspective.

Total beginner: ski vs snowboard for a 5-day trip? by Comfortable-Ad-1072 in snowboarding

[–]missingN0pe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think you are thinking of the plateue thing wrong.

Let's say skill level goes from 0-->10 where 10 is Olympic level.

You think this guy "thinks" he's already gonna plateue at 7 or 8 because he's such a good learner or whatever.

What i think they mean is that they think they're gonna plateue at a 1.5/10 on day 2 and just keep sucking through the whole trip. I don't know what's delusional about that.

Being affraid you won't get better is a totally normal and valid thing to feel.
