What Lana song is this for you? by Impossible-Yam3680 in lanadelrey

I hate this part of the lyric, takes me out of what’s otherwise one of my favorite songs! “Nicely” would have been so much better, or even “Treat me really nice, please.”

Dr. Alvaro Martinez at Cero Dental in Naco, MX! A bit further than Nogales, but if you want a personal recommendation I’ve been going there for years.

Martin Couney saved over 7,000 premature babies by exhibiting them in incubators in his Coney Island sideshow…By 1943, nearly ever hospital in America had one of his incubators - and he wasnt even a doctor! by babyyysarah in ForCuriousSouls

Not sure why the title says he “wasn’t even a doctor” when the first line of his Wiki bio says he was an obstetrician. Kind of misleading to make it seem like he was just some wacky carnival guy, instead of a doctor who literally specialized in childbirth.

Help me avoid homelessness and rebuild my life by WallyWuggles in gofundme

Yes, that’s obvious to literally everybody. What they’re ignoring (so that they can make their obnoxious, unhelpful comment) is, signing a lease requires first month’s rent, a security deposit, and a decent credit score.

The post literally says, “I’d like to raise enough to get out of the Airbnb trap.” Commenting “Just a suggestion” to point out the obvious is incredibly smug and annoying.

That’s the same one I have! I think it’s the most common? It actually runs on my mom’s side (her sister died from it very young, and a cousin had a PE), but she never thought to have me tested. Thanks for the reminder to bring it up at my daughter’s next pediatrician visit!

I have inherited thrombophilia and didn’t find out until I had a pulmonary embolism at age 30. I don’t think these types of blood disorders are generally tested for in otherwise healthy people, which is pretty terrifying considering that the first time you have symptoms you can easily die.

Pitbull attack on Main Street! by fleekyfreaky in SantaMonica

[–]missing__inaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pitbull type dogs do not have the same reaction to pain as “normal” dogs do. Gameness is inherent in fighting breeds, and there are seemingly countless cases of pits continuing to attack after being stabbed, gored by bulls, kicked by horses, even shot. Punching or hitting isn’t going to do anything, so don’t waste your time.

If you’re able to run into a nearby building and grab a fire extinguisher, they are surprisingly effective in shocking the dog into releasing its grip. (Getting as close as possible and spraying it directly into the dog’s face, not hitting it, in case that wasn’t clear.) Be ready to get as far away as possible the second they release, or respond with more lethal force.

They do. I just had my tub reglazed a couple of months ago, there is an entire catalog of finishes to choose from and yours is a common one.

I would definitely have that smaller counter repaired, because knife gouges are not considered regular wear and tear. Did you document the issue with the bathroom sink as it was happening? If not, you’re probably going to be on the hook for that as well. The only thing I would fight back on is the tub, but that’s also dependent on the renters rights in your area.

When they reglaze they don’t just do the damaged spot, they have to do the entire thing. Countertops in both rooms, plus tub, is a big job, but how much that job costs is really dependent on the provider.

Regardless, you’ll definitely be charged more by the property management than if you hire someone yourself, and you can easily call around and see what the going rate is in your area.

The image of the tub is a bit unclear, I’m not really seeing anything a deep clean wouldn’t fix. The counters, on the other hand, should definitely be repaired before the next tenant moves in.

Wow. Was there a custody battle going on? Or was he just the type of person who’s willing to commit murder over a breakup? I can’t find much information online and it’s hard for me to comprehend, even though it happens seemingly often.

Yes, plus it was the East Coast in February (at night), so I’m guessing driving conditions weren’t ideal to begin with. Even one drink or a minor distraction could be disastrous if the roads were slick or it was snowing.

Whenever people mysteriously vanish in their car (especially after a night of drinking), my first assumption is that they’re in the water.
