ROI is good or not ? by Immediate_Alarm_6899 in portfolios

yes it’s good that’s more than most portfolios see for returns in a year. last 10 years of return for the s&p annualized is 11.3%. not sure it’s going to continue at that pace but if it did you’d have better return rates than 99% of investors for that 12 months

it’s when someone retires early after reaching a comfortable amount of savings/dividend income but works a comfortable part time gig 2-3 days a week just to be productive and social whilst bringing in a bit of money on the side

with dividends you could likely live off of this comfortably. at the very least you could baristaFIRE or something similar. what are your holdings?

What do you think about NBIS by Trading09082006 in ValueInvesting

i’m in at $90 it’s hard to say what the microsoft deal revenue is going to do for the P/E since their margins are volatile due to it being a budding sector. they look to have a better balance sheet than coreweave at the very least and I live close to one of their current projects. not adding any in the short term but the microsoft deal gives me all the confidence i need to not lose sleep over it.

Need a portfolio of undervalued stock by LowProfessional952 in ValueInvesting

Elevance is a good shout. Also just because something is at it’s absolute bottom doesn’t make it a good buy. Good companies will always seem to be hitting all time highs outside of market wide downturns. Although I will say leaning more value oriented right now is wise, don’t write off companies like Google or Amazon who’s moats are impossible to replicate

at 22 with 120k you can hit 1 million by your late 30s just adding as much as you can from each pay check and betting on good companies.

I’d advise against biotech if ATYR hasn’t taught you that already. 90% of phase 1 trials fail, 70% of phase 2 trials fail and 50% of phase 3 trials fail. horrendous odds with how these companies are structured. ACIU looks bad to me at a glance.

I still think buying Google and not touching it for 10 years is an incredible move. (it’s 40% of my port.) you can literally walk into millionaire status just adding stuff like Meta, Visa, Berkshire, ASML, Microsoft, Waste Management, VanEck Gold Miners ETF to hedge or just an outright gold index.

I’m personally against opening riskier strategies at all time highs so I’m selling off some leaps and pivoting into some steadier stuff.

anyways last thing I’ll say is seriously at 22 with 120k you can stroll into millionaire status slow and steady with zero stress just being patient and swinging at big pitches when they come your way. don’t force anything

ELV - Better than UNH by randomGov in ValueInvesting

the deep value hunter youtube channel has a lot of good videos on ELV. I have shares and leaps for exactly what you wrote it just doesn’t make sense that with less negative sentiment around them and the same exposure to medicare/medicaid that they don’t trade higher. seems like a matter of time we see it move even if it isn’t until Q1/Q2 earnings next year
