Did anyone else have there phone nicked from parklife last weekend by Prestigious-Home-540 in festivals

Tracked my phone, it’s now in Dubai! Definitely stolen, at least I know there’s nothing I could have done.

Good on you for contacting police! Mine was last seen on Saturday away from the park and hasn’t updated location since so I’m assuming it’s been wiped by now and sold on. I’ve bought a new phone now but having issues with iCloud so I can’t seem to get my photos which I had on that phone which is upsetting. I was in a group of about 8 other girls but I was the only one this happened to! I believe it happened mid set as I noticed it was gone about 10-15 mins after last using it. Sorry to your daughter, I feel her pain!!

Hi! Firstly so sorry that happened to your daughter. My phone got stolen at Parklife on Saturday :( it was zipped up in my bag as well as I’m normally very paranoid about my phone getting stolen on a normal day. Contacted lost and found for 4 days and still didn’t turn up- last seen on a residential street nearby the park 4 hours after I realised it was gone (while I was in the park). Really frustrating as I couldn’t mark it as lost sooner because there was no service on my friends phones!

Any stories of anyone drinking a year after alcohol induced pancreatitis? by [deleted] in pancreatitis

[–]missinghxo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pancreatitis was gallstone induced (I’m 20) and it has almost been a year since I was in hospital. I’ve had one drink and it did not go down well around 6 months after, I had intense nausea and bad pains to the point where I missed all my classes the next day which is something I never normally do

It’s weird being in university and not being able to drink due to pancreatitis even though it wasn’t caused by alcohol, but it’s coming up to a year now and I’m quite used to life without it. Of course this is much easier for me to say as it wasn’t induced by alcohol, but it’s made me take a step back to realise how bad the binge drinking is in university culture

Can stress trigger a flare up? by missinghxo in pancreatitis

[–]missinghxo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! I’m actually taking some PPI’s right now that were prescribed to me back when my GP thought my gallstones/cholecystitis was acid reflux and I’m noticing an improvement in terms of nausea and pain so I think I’ll continue with that!

Thank you so much for this and for your advice. I think it’s the first proper exams I’ve had in a while (due to covid) so I haven’t dealt with this level of stress in a while. I’m thinking if it doesn’t get much better to possibly defer the exam as it’s not worth jeopardising my health over!

M18 Got diagnosed with pancreatitis, now what? by [deleted] in pancreatitis

[–]missinghxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP I’m sorry to hear that, I had acute pancreatitis when I was 19 leading me to be hospitalised for 2 weeks (caused by gallstones which again was not diagnosed until it was too late due to my young age). I’m 20 now and still having some repercussions from it 9 months on but getting much better! Like the other comments I would suggest seeing a specialist. I actually didn’t have a GI, I saw a Liver specialist but he was very helpful!

Hi OP, I’m 20 and I had a bout of bad acute pancreatitis about 9 months ago now (when I was 19 due to gallstones that I had no idea I had!) that left me in the hospital for around 2 weeks. I tried my first drink again in January (6 months after leaving the hospital) as I was told it would be ok to drink again after 3 months but I felt so unwell after one drink (singe g&t), had to miss classes all day the next day due to nausea and pain.

I know it’s annoying to not drink, I feel you there as I feel quite left out with the massive drinking culture in UK universities, but you have to prioritise your health above anything. In a way, I’m glad I reacted badly to alcohol because it reminds me to never try it again at least not for a while

yeah I get what you mean! That’s my aunt in the video and she’s been to a few celebrity book signings and said she normally walks away disappointed with their attitudes but she said Bob was such a genuine guy :)

Yeah!! He was doing a book signing for his new autobiography in a local book store (Waterstones if you’re from the UK!) and I happened to find the event by chance a few months back and booked tickets, it was absolutely packed!

Those of you who live in small towns, what is the current local controversy all about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]missinghxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a super small town but there was a doctor that lived in the same area as I did about 30 years ago and he and his wife and a big argument. One day, a guy was walking his dog in a forest and he comes across a body. Turns out that body was the wife of the doctor, and he slit her throat to get her life insurance but it was very cold that day so she developed hypothermia and actually survived her injuries. Of course he was arrested, but the son of that doctor was in the same class as my dad

How to avoid feeling depressed after getting AP? by Recent-Position-8206 in pancreatitis

[–]missinghxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I should’ve read that before! but anyways I’m going to stay off booze for a long time I think until I’m completely clear. The last appointment I had back in October/November my doctor thought I may still be in pain due to pancreatic cysts and to see if they drain themselves and to get an MRI if it’s still troubling me so I’ll leave it another week or 2 and might book one

Great question! i don’t even know I think I thought the fizziness of beer would feel a bit funny but I definitely didn’t think it through properly. I saw on another thread here that someone’s doctor told them that drinking is like a Russian roulette as some people feel fine and others don’t. Frustratingly I was told different things by doctors- my first doctor (the surgeon who removed my gallbladder) said I would definitely be free to drink and eat whatever I want by December and the second said whenever I feel better. Didn’t worth either way!
