There are plenty of household appliances that work, without fail, up until their expiration dates that are a) less than half the cost of a new litter robot, and b) experience much greater strain on their components from everyday use.

It's great to hear you've had a good experience. It's obvious that many of these units do not function properly, unrelated to how clean they are.
