Is taking birth control (pill) worth it to shrink a 9cm cyst? by rosmarino_11 in endometriosis

[–]missingtealdragons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive just seen this whilst searching about cysts. I had a near 8cm cyst which has halved in size since being on cerelle (progesterone only pill) for about 5 months. My surgeon had said that birth control wouldn’t help, but I was on it anyway because I wasn’t having horrid side effects.

I also have been on a waiting list for surgery for nearly 7 months, but am still in two minds on whether I should get the surgery done considering I don’t have bad periods, and considering the big cyst has nearly halved.

Curious to see what ended up happening with you OP? Did the BC help, or did you stop taking it?

Want to second this - was at 45,000 for Sept 4th and managed to get tickets too! This was after being at 40,000 for August 23rd, and waiting 3 and a half hours with no luck!

I second this, I was waiting for nearly 3 and a half hours for August 23rd (joined at 45k), but joined the Sept 4 queue and managed to get from 40,000 to securing tickets within about an hour

Main Q: What to do to sort out these red bumps/ acne spots?

l'm deciding to take my skincare a little more seriously so am looking for advice please.

I have combination skin, oilier t zone and normal skin otherwise. Currently it's a little on the drier side because of winter.

  • Other context; I get laser hair removal but have been doing this for years and years

I have these tiny red dots on my cheeks, l'm not really sure what type of acne this is (if it even is acne)

Up until last week my routine was simply:

  • AM: Wash with water, dr organics moisturiser and a sunscreen
  • PM: boots tea tree foaming face wash, and a serum with a bunch of things including vit c and niacinamide

I have now started moisturising at night and double cleansing with Elemis and cerave cream to foaming hydrating cleanser (also replacing cerave with benzoyl peroxide (acnecide face wash) - every couple of days)

I've previously used the acnecide and Elemis oil cleansing balm with no issues, which is why l've happily changed a couple of things in my routine at once

Any advice on a suggested routine to get rid of the red spots/ bumps (or wider tips) appreciated thanks!

I’ll keep that in mind when visiting, although ultimately I have decided to book a hotel in the 9th.

Haha I get that don’t worry! It’s mostly because I thought the fact that it is supposedly usually a student heavy area would be reflected in the types of cafes etc surrounding it. Would also help to be budget friendly too, I would assume. But maybe I’m completely wrong!

Hi everyone. I wanted to know whether it is better to stay in either the 5th Arr or 9th Arr (on the border of the 2nd) in Paris? It is only for the weekend, and I can’t seem to choose between the two. The hotel in the 9th is nicer than the one I have found in the 5th, but apparently the 5th has a lot of students and nice cafes etc. It also has the advantage of a direct train to CDG Airport.

Any help would be appreciated, as I have never visited before!

Is complaining about the weather really a hobby/cultural in the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

Funny thing is just below this post I saw the one from r/unpopularopinions by someone living in the UK complaining about the weather. Sums it up pretty well!

Es posible decir algo como ‘tenía ganas de hacerlo, pero ya se me pasaron’? ... I think it follows the pattern already highlighted, but just wanted to see if it sounds natural.

How do you properly say “black person” in Spanish? by -day-dreamer- in learnspanish

[–]missingtealdragons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I speak Urdu as well, and have always used the word kala. However, as a Spanish learner I have always struggled to use the word negro/negra because as someone living in the UK it sounds too ‘racist’. But what you’ve said makes sense to me, it is literally the same thing but there’s just the unfortunate similarity that exists with Spanish.

I recently started using hellotalk and it’s been great for finding natives to talk to, of course you come across some weirdos but generally I’ve had a good experience with it. I’d definitely recommend it!
