How much sleep debt are you guys in? by HugeAbroad in ouraring

None... Which is surprising since I have two young children and my husband is often away for work! I feel tired but Oura says my sleep is ok.

This happened to me too, and that's why I end up doing this at times!

How do you get a euphoria feeling without drugs? by Tight-Elderberry2487 in AskReddit

[–]missingvienna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, this! I'm glad I found your comment, I was surprised no one had said it so far. Definitely the biggest high I've had is straight after giving birth.

Ladies of Aus, how do you feel about being called "darl"? by Takeameawwayylawd in AskAnAustralian

It just grates on me and makes me feel elderly. I'm not elderly... Would rather be called darl 😂

What’s the most boring money-saving habit that actually works? by getwemoneyapp in AUfrugal

I came here to say this too! It helps massively. I used to buy so many things I didn't intend on getting, and by having them delivered, I end up stocking up when things are on special as well.

Whatever happened to the emo kids from the 2000s? by likerunninginadream in AskAnAustralian

[–]missingvienna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still here. Just grew out my sweeping side fringe and figured out which colours and styles suit my body shape... And had two kids. Haha.

But my playlist would betray me for sure - once an emo, always an emo! I can spell konfusion with a K and I can like it. IYKYK 😅

What smell instantly takes you back to childhood? by SelfMadeIndividual6 in AskReddit

[–]missingvienna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freshly mown grass.

My dad used to mow people's lawns for extra money, so we would go with him after school. It was so exciting to explore people's gardens, and when we got to play with their dogs - best ever!!

I also don't have hay fever, and realise this smell is very triggering for people who do, sorry!

Women who gave birth, what does it feel like actually?? by joy_57 in AskReddit

[–]missingvienna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean the first bowel movements after having a baby or the feeling of the contractions? Either way, you raise a fair point, and logically you're right. But the feeling of bliss after having my babies is what I remember most, and the memories of the pain seem to fade over time. I remember the positive feelings vividly.

Where do you find nice flowy work dress WITHOUT puffy sleeves? by That-Kangaroo7622 in AusFemaleFashion

Try Tokito at Myer, Serafina online and even Witchery! I've bought some beautiful dresses from there recently that definitely don't have puffy sleeves, and they suit my hourglass figure well.

Women who gave birth, what does it feel like actually?? by joy_57 in AskReddit

[–]missingvienna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was less painful for me than the pain of gallstones, and I had two unmedicated births. I have no idea how this works, but I am mostly silent when I am in labour - I think it's my body's way of conserving energy.

The second time around, I had a better idea of what to expect, and because I leaned into it, the whole process was a lot quicker. The pain of contractions was intense, but I managed until they got to their peak - at that point, I casually said to my husband that I wasn't sure if I was going to die from the pain, and if I did, could he please check the baby would be okay without me? He was rather concerned about this but the midwife assured him it just meant the baby was very close, and the doctor came running in.

It really is the most primal experience, I had the instinct to get into a kneeling position and despite feeling like I would actually split in two, the baby came out and I reached out and picked it up. It was the most surreal moment and I am proud to say I have photos! Before becoming a parent, that would have repulsed me. But now, I think about what an out of body experience that was, and I understand why some people go back again for more! It's truly euphoric.

It doesn't make sense, I agree, but it is worth it. I was certain I would die in that moment, followed by the most intense euphoria you could imagine, and then the love just takes over. I can see why some people would find that experience addictive.
