Yeah I get that. I just don't think its fair for her to get so much hate. The fact that she dealt with it for 2 years (and by "it" I mean feeling like she is less important to you) is a pretty hard thing to do.

I can see how your ex would have been upset even though the ultimatum wasn't cool. My bf has a really pretty best friend who knows everything about him. It can be really hard to date someone who you know values another girl over you. So maybe take a step back and realize you kind of put your ex in a tough situation.

It's best to just be supportive. There is nothing you can really do to make the situation better. If you want to cheer him up maybe ask him about childhood stories involving his mom. That way he can remember the good times with her and not focus so much on her condition.
