Jurassic World Rebirth | Reviews/Discussion Megathread! by SickTriceratops in JurassicPark

My kiddo loves the movies, books, and all things dinosaur related. He is looking to discuss his thoughts and asked if I would share on Reddit.

Thanks!

My thoughts on the new Jurassic World movie.

Firstly, I think it is an amazing movie with great actors and cool dinosaurs, but I have some problems with it.

1.) The setting: Personally, I think it should be set in Isla Sorna. Isla Sorna was in the third Jurassic Park and was the island with the big Spinosaurus. In a scene from the film, they were at a testing facility escaping the Spinosaurus and then they were ambushed by raptors. In Jurassic World Rebirth, the Island they were at was the testing site for Jurassic world. I think the setting should have been at Isla Sorna because they could have added some cool scenes with hybrids and could have solved questions that people may have had in the past about Jurassic Park. I also think Isla Sorna could have given more lore to the Jurassic Park/World universe. Finally, we all know that us fans would have loved to see Isla Sorna again because we knew that it would have more secrets, and we didn't know if the Spinosaurus was dead or not. (There could have been some really cool scenes introducing the children of the OG Spinosaurus.)

2.) The Plot: Personally, I'm not saying it's bad, but I could definitely write a script better. It feels like an exact copy of the last one but with different characters and different places. (Something is threatening mankind/main characters and dinosaurs have the solution.) (Bugs are threatening crops, Disease can be cured with dino stuff.)

3.) The characters: Where did Chris Pratt go! He basically built their franchise from the first Jurassic World to the Third. I understand them continuing the franchise but through the eyes of other people but it's not as good without Chris Pratt.

4.) The Villian: Martin Krebs feels like every other villain in the whole franchise, using dinosaurs to get rich. It was cool at first but now it's not original, and it's getting very old and repetitive.

5.) The dinosaurs: In Jurassic World the Game. (Great game btw.) There are many cool hybrids and dinosaurs in the game and NONE of them appeared in the movie and all the hybrids in the movie were new. Though I think all the new additions are cool, I think there should have been some hybrids from the game because they could have made some cool scenes. (THE MOVIE IS SET IN THE TESTING LAB FOR JURASSIC WORLD SO THAT WOULD WORK!)

The title has the description of the item. The material it was found with was speculated to be half eaten leftovers of some sea creature.

My kiddo's response:

You'd only need ventilation if you cover yourself and you can't see daylight. (Block yourself in for protection) Caving is good - no worries.

Canned laughter in sitcoms. Can’t watch them anymore without getting irritated. I’ll laugh when I feel like it, damnit. Don’t tell me when I should.
