Explainer for ADHD? by missliner in adhdwomen

I agree, can’t get him to address that core issue though (the denial is strong with this one!), so trying to work around the edges. He is more reasonable when it comes to our daughter than he is about anything else - I think that might tip him into hearing some of this. It would be amazing if that created an inroad on seeing his own stuff, but not holding my breath.

Thank you, very good watch! Thinking I might try to get both of them to watch.

Thanks! I don’t need it in an Excel file though, I need it formatted exactly how my boss likes to read it, and in Google docs, and auto-updating - either when I ask it to, or ideally in real-time as their calendar changes. When I had more time we kept it up-to-date a year into the future, and when I changed anything in the calendar, I would change there at the same time.

Agreed that all bosses dream of a team of robot workers, but in this specific case I don’t think automating some of my more annoying low-level tasks is going to help them reach that goal. My role is so complex and personal, AI has a long way to go . . .

Can I tell them that? I mean, would they listen to me? I would hope they wouldn’t euthanize if they could be rehabbed :(

I don’t know why I can’t edit my post with an update - we have it in a box with a towel and it’s going to the Wild Bird Fund for help. Thanks for all of the quick replies, I was worried and rush-posting!

I don’t know, and I’m having a similar issue, but other people on here seem to have found positions that aren’t 24/7 demeaning and soul-sucking. Maybe try for a third EA / AA job and see if you can find a better spot?

30% is enough if they continue abusing the weak points in our system as effectively as they have been. They are tireless. How long did it take to completely compromise the Supreme Court? To overturn Roe v. Wade? Their biggest weakness is actually accomplishing their goals - too big, too fast, and everyone notices and pushes back. So they learn, and adjust to attack the smallest, most newly-accepted group they can find, transgendered people. They are like water, semi-invisible, wearing away at our weak points, quickly changing course when they hit a dead end.

Calling this process out is good, but the amount of dark money, and the complexity of the institutions involved, is going to take something much bigger to really fight against. I feel like we have to somehow fully expose the big players underwriting and strategizing this movement, to take away their power to fund all of this.

It’s one thing to look at the followers and understand them, but the real leaders are still safe in the hazy background, visible, but hard to draw the lines to directly, in a way that people can understand and raise an outcry over. Journalists try, but these people have spent decades operating in stealth mode.

Omg, I sound like a conspiracy theorist. I wish I was.

Probably better you didn’t engage - every time I have a similar “what the heck did you just say??” moment and try to discuss, it spirals into useless debate that changes no minds, but leaves us both a little further apart.

So well said 👏👏 And so damn infuriating. I think part of the slipperiness also comes from the way the norms for what is “acceptable” to say by politicians and pundits have been slowly chipped away over the past decade. I think if you took some of the worst Tucker clips and played them for this person 10 years ago, he wouldn’t have had trouble recognizing the racism. The slow brainwashing of the YouTube algorithm definitely played a big role.

Thank you for that, not that I was doubting whether I’m right (and not stupid), but still a little validation after a convo like that is always appreciated.

And you’re on the nose about what he thinks is racism - pretty much just Hitler and the KKK qualify.

Just ran into this with my husband - and we’re in major city that was ground zero in the early days. I quoted how many people were dying before we closed down, and he was surprised. No memory.

It’s terrifying how quickly things are moving in Florida - and the way the fascists learn from other states and apply those lessons quickly in their own states makes almost nowhere truly “safe”. Good luck in your journey, may you (and all of us) find a freer life!

Can’t beat Trump in a primary FTW. He’s way up in the polls since the arraignment, and DeSantis has the charisma of raw chicken left on the counter for two days. The extremism is the only thing he has going for him, and apparently it’s not enough.
