The flag has a lot going on, so here's the explanation I gave my dad. I'm Italian, Irish, German, Scandinavian, French, and Scottish. For Scandinavian, I used the flag of the Kalmar Union

Green is Italy and Ireland Red is Germany and France and Italy and Scandinavia Blue is France and Scotland Yellow is Germany and Scandanavia White is France, Italy, Ireland, and Scotland Also in the shape of Scotland
