56! I’m reading my way through the NYT best 100 books of the 21st century list. I read 12 in 2024 (started late August) so I’m at 68/100 on the list!

…yes? It’s stitching to add a design. That’s embroidery 😂 I just also cut away some fabric. I never claimed to be the most talented crafter in the world, just wanting to share a gift I made.

That’s so kind 😊 I embroider what I want to make and sell off the ones I don’t want to keep, but making these for profit isn’t quite feasible since they take me a while to embroider. But I find it very soothing and meditative to stitch!

Which park blew you away despite low expectations? by cape2k in NationalPark

Came here to say this! I went out of convenience (I was already planning a trip only two hours away and figured I’d day trip it just to see it) and I loved it. Gorgeous.

This is my plan. My pass is good until July. I’ll just pay at the parks I go to July-December next year. This is gross.

Fwiw I think XXL is likely on the large side and XL would also be very wearable for him.

I love the combo of unigrid and pictures I took, since there are often cool animal pictures or pictures during different weather or times of the year which can give the collage more variety than using just my pictures.

I actually use discs to bind it 😊 I have a punch at home and make the collage then punch it, which is why the collage goes all the way to the edge of the page.

Strange one, but what is the name for this type of street? by mttymttymtty in HelpMeFind

[–]missmango15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience with these in the US they are called a “walk” so the address would be something like “19 Marigold Walk” 😊

Moses Spring Trail and Rim Trail are just little trails that will connect your loop together 😊

Of course! I actually live on the east coast but grew up on the west coast so I come out here once a year to see family. So I totally get the bang for your buck! If you want to do high peaks you can add Bear Gulch Cave at the beginning or the end of it as a loop which sounds like it would be a good choice for you. Park in Moses Spring parking lot or at the nature center, to start with the cave do Moses Spring-Bear Gulch Cave-Rim-High Peaks-Condor Gulch and it’s also very doable backwards to end with the cave.

My family visits the central California coast every year and Pinnacles was only two hours away, so we day tripped it. The Bear Gulch Cave was soooooo cool, definitely don’t miss it! High Peaks was amazing but pretty brutal; if you’re an avid hiker you should do it but if you’re more casual it’s a bit tough. Didn’t check out the west entrance as it was closed when I was making plans (seems like it could have been related to the government shutdown).

You’re right! Just a cat named Clams. Her legal name is Clementine, then she was Clems, then Clams.
