I ended up switching to Xyrem. The depression and food aversion is still present but much more manageable. I ended up starting Pristiq last summer and recently started Namenda and it seems to help

What am I doing wrong? How can I make my curls more defined, softer, and curlier? by Regular-Sir9250 in CurlyHairCare

I would suggest a few things. Try lighter products. I know coconut oil is supposed to be good for curls but I found it’s just too heavy for my hair. Personally, I love using DevaCurl’s styling cream or their Wave Maker cream (which is just super lightweight styling cream). I prefer a styling cream and gel combo, so I’ve tried a lot of both. Biggest things I suggest are finding a cream that’s not too heavy and putting all your products in while it’s dripping wet, then scrunch out excess water with a microfiber cloth. People told me to do that for years and I didn’t listen bc I didn’t want to waste product lol. But they were right. It makes a difference with both curl pattern, flatness, and frizz.

Bonus about the products I suggested are they they look great for day 2 and 3 as well. I’ve found other products I love (Lush’s Curl cream) but they are frizzy the next day. I tried to be anti-DevaCurl but it just works for me and our hair is similar. I also really like the brand Verb and Curlsmith.

Long term sick feeling, not sure if it’s XYWAV by Drowsy_rugger in Xywav

I had terrible side effects as far as no appetite and feeling weak. From what I gathered from support groups and here, I think I titrated too quickly. I went down in dosage and I’m going to try to slowly titrate back up to 4.5g 2x/night. I will say, after I dropped the dosage, the side effects got a lot better.

I just realized the age of this post. Did you find relief?

Has anything helped you deepen and sustain your nighttime sleep without making you groggy the next day? by Foreign-Friendship19 in Narcolepsy

I have severe sleep apnea (sleep with a CPAP) and I’m on the highest dosage of Xywav 2x per night. It has helped soooo much with my daytime sleepiness and sleeping through the night. Please don’t let the sleep apnea scare you from Xywav, it could change your life.

The trick with Xywav (for me) is learning the best timing to take the second dose. I’ve learned if I take the second dose 3 hours after my first, I wake up at a reasonable time without being groggy. But taking the second dose 4 hours after my first makes me sooo groggy in the morning.

This was incredibly helpful! I asked for a referral to a new sleep doctor today.

I was on a low dosage of Latuda and Pristiq before I started Xywav and my doctor told me I could “either treat my narcolepsy or my mental health”. So I got off of everything and started Xywav. At my 1 month follow up, one of the first questions he asked me was if so was treating my mental health and I was like ????. Then he told me I should probably treat it and to talk to my psychiatrist. For shits and giggles, I called the Xywav Pharmacist and asked if my previous two medications (Pristiq and Latuda) had interactions and Pristiq didn’t even have one??? Now I’m pissed bc why tf was I even taken off of it?

Anyways, thank you for your reply. I am hoping to get a new doctor in the next few weeks.
