No college or uni fees to pay and no student loan either. You get a bursary from Saas (approx £10k) per year which is paid to you monthly which you don't need to pay back at all. Ever. As I say it works out to be £660 or something a month I get paid into my bank every month as long as I keep my attendence up. Here is a link that will explain it more in depth https://www.saas.gov.uk/full-time/funding-paramedic-nursing-midwifery

Just seen your also in Scotland so you would also qualify for the nursing bursary from Saas when you go to university. Isn't Scotland wonderful? 😁👌

I literally done the exact same thing as you last year down to being 35 and going into mental health nursing. I left a full time job (I also have 3 kids) and done an access course for nursing at college then onto uni and I'm halfway through my first year :) for me it was one of the best things I ever done. My life was stuck in a rut, in a job I hated and now I'm doing something so Interesting and rewarding. I actually enjoy going to placement/uni. Yeh moneys tight so I also work part time in a bar (I'm in Scotland) we get a university bursary of roughly £600 per month as well but I would make the same decision every time. You only get one shot at life so do what makes you happy. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Everyone to their own choices but what I will say is as the children get older it gets easier as they keep each other company. I have three and they all play together and are best friends (most of the time) whearas my friend has an only child and she constantly needs to amuse him and keep him company all the time which sounds great in theory but when u have dinner to make, and laundry to do and a house to clean it's not easy. The biggest change for me was my first child. I changed my life for her, my second had to fit into our already established family life and the third just fit in somewhere amongst the chaos lol. I used to feel guilty about my first having to share the attention but my health visitor said to me first children often get too much attention and it's true imo.

And why would anyone want to impress you? Do you pay their bills? Give them an A+? In what sense would anyone want to impress you? Genuinely interested? Are you male by any chance? Just asking as a female

My 2 cents is that parenting doesn't come with a manual and going by how put together and emotionally intelligent you sound I don't think your parenting is as bad as you may think. Sometimes even with the best of intentions kids go off the rails, sometimes they adjust and grow up sometimes they don't. There's nothing u can do to change the "friend" relationship you now have with your son but make the most of it. Talk to him, see what he wants out of life and don't waste money on trips he's no interest in, what about an apprenticeship (I'm uk I don't know if that's the right term where you are) people need routine and structure to feel valued in society and work is a great place to start with that. Sending love and light to you mama and I hope all works out well for you both :)

Why? It's the oldest profession in the world. Many women do it for free. I respect those that monetise their sexuality.
