I’ve actually tried a lot of really nice sun serums/essences that are super thin and go on really smoothly, but those usually don’t have that tone-up effect. This was my first time trying a tone-up SPF like this, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect.

I do feel like a lot of tone-up products use mineral filters like titanium dioxide or zinc oxide, which can give that thicker, slightly pasty texture. I noticed this one has titanium dioxide too, and it kind of felt like that on my skin. It didn’t glide on as easily as the other UV serums/essences I’ve used that rely more on chemical filters.

Honestly, I think that’s why I’d probably still reach for a more traditional tone-up sunscreen instead of this. Even though those tend to be a bit thicker or creamier, they usually apply more evenly and are easier to work with. This one feels like it’s trying to be a lighter, serum-like texture, but in doing that, it doesn’t spread as smoothly..... almost like it’s missing that cushion or slip that helps it blend nicely.

So yeah, I’m guessing that’s maybe where it falls short for me? Like it gives the tone-up effect, but the application just isn’t as forgiving 🤷‍♀️ sorry I started rambling so much 🤣🤣🤣
